HQ - the new flying video ads are driving us bonkers!

I use an iPad and they have started popping up in the last week. I use chrome and an ad blocker but they are popping up and covering forums too.

This one is constant….?‍♀️…they must think I’m a young man ?

I find that the Brave web browser gets rid of them and most web sites become much more usable without all the flashy adverts, but do you really want to force people to have to use an ad blocking browser as you will then loose your revenue.

i am also sick of the adds coming up on the bottom corner of my screen, unless i close the add, it comes all the way to the top and i can't see the forums, starting to put me off coming onto gransnet.

Safari on IPad with pop up blocker on.
Constant flying ads bottom right - can't read the posts and so annoying I go away

I feel quite neglected I haven’t got anything popping up but
I ve got no extra blockers or anything So what have you all done that I haven’t ?

It has taken me half an hour to type a post, due to these annoying adverts blocking the text box and as for the sound blaring out. I have had to mute my tablet!
I close one and another pops up. I have been in Google settings and made changes, to no avail.?

Highly irritating on an iPad

I am using Chrome on iPad. Don’t know how to do a screen shot on iPad. It is so annoying it puts me off coming here.

I get this one as well, I’m definitely not a young man! On my mini iPad using google

Forgot to add, I have my iPad on silent so was not aware there is a sound issue.

And I’ve just had three pop ups in less than two minutes this morning!

I mute my iPad so wasn’t aware or the noise either
It is extremely annoying

I’ve put Adblock plus on my MacBook Pro and it’s stopped the videos but they come back every time I go back into GN. Adblock icon is on the toolbar now so I can just confirm it to kick in again.
Video Ads are on iPhone 8 but they’re on top right, small and don’t cover anything. They’re not there every day. None today!
My sound is always up full and rarely on silent but I never get sound from the videos.
I use google chrome on both devices.

I’ve just gone into settings to block pop ups, let’s hope that works. This is a new iPad and all updates have been done.

I do not have this problem with any other web site so it must be a flaw with Gransnet.

Can't see the message box much of the time!

I am using a Samsung galaxy tablet and these video clip advertisements are driving me crazy, if you don't get it sorted I will stop using Gransnet.

Please, please HQ, do something about this. It totally ruins the experience of being on this forum. It is driving me mad, both on desktop and Samsung tablet.

Android tablet, chrome. Desktop site. Personally, I seem to have solved the problem by switching to the mobile site, but that 'fix' hasn't worked for everyone.

On my device, it's the sound on the video that is most annoying - my tablet being bigger than a phone, at least the ads don't obstruct the text box.

I often have more than one window open once, flicking between them to do different things.
These damned ads can suddenly start playing when I'm not even looking at the Gransnet window, which apart from being intrusive, has made me jump out of my skin several times. Obviously, I can't see the video when this happens, just hear it.

I don't want to turn my volume off.

I've never had this problem before on any site. Please sort it out.
