A few people on this thread can attest to that and it matters not what I think of them or what they think of me, I say something anyway

That's exactly what I am doing. Usually when I am out of the loop I just scratch my head, or ask someone to PM me, but this time I thought I'd do what many people said we should do the last time this sort of thing happened, and speak up.

I don't know what's going on, or who is being 'got at', so I'm less likely to say the wrong thing than if I had half an idea. I hope so anyway.

Your prerogative, obviously; but I am only doing what you have just said that you do - speaking up when there is a pile-on. The fact that there is no 'body' is not really the point. More than once there has been a thread where an unspecified poster has been the victim.
