Very annoying pop up videos

(I did it so you don’t have to 😉) there are ads embedded. I saw one for a car.
It seems a convoluted way to get you to see an ad.
Anyway, like you, I don’t mind ads, as long as we have Gransnet 🥲

I quite like seeing the old pictures of Gransnetters but I'm not sure how they might feel about it.

HQ will be trying us with these
and when we stop complaining they will sneak in the lucrative adverts like Teeth Implants, Stair Lifts, Equity Release, and brand new Retirement homes.

I do find them irritating but I can never remember what they’re for so they’re wasted on me! I’d prefer not to have them anywhere.

Update on those video’s
One of the Mumsnet team who I sent a complaint e mail to as I felt it must have come from there,
replied and said they have picked up our comments from GN ‘Site Stuff’ and changed the adverts so that they are more relevant to us.
She hoped I agreed?
My last request was “could they be removed altogether?” and I don’t think that is an option as it was not acknowledged.
So scones and makeovers it is ladies 🙁

We now have videos supposedly more suited to our age group and in a new development (at least on my laptop) now have ads inserted within the video and the option to "skip the advertisement". I also find the flash advert for gransnet with the person holding the flag rather offensive, bit like some of those posters from the 30's for youth groups.

Well, the videos must be 8 years old or even more.

How long does a trial take for heaven's sake? They've had enough feedback surely!

OK so now we have Gransnet style videos ( they're still not ads). But I for one still close them immediately they pop up.

This has appeared on my page - made me grimace as they have definitely second-guessed me right. I do need help!

The ads aren’t necessarily driving individual sales, it’s about the number of times it’s seen by people.

I use an ad blocker. Simple to download and I don’t see any ads.

I changed browser this morning to Google Chrome and so far - so good 🤞 No Popup adverts at all.
I still have Adblock app installed but I think Google has it s own built in?
