Reading the thread (with our without the “f”)

I do feel that labouring the point might be just as insensitive though.

Perhaps not under normal circumstances, but when OP has initially shared the devastating news of her DH’s diagnosis, shared his progress after treatment and then shared the sad news of his death just last week, surely anybody even glancing through the thread might have noticed the messages of condolence over the last few days, and thought twice about posting jolly “keep positive, hope it all turns out all right, enjoy the time you have together” type messages.

In RL if you know somebody’s partner/parent/child is gravely ill, you phrase your enquiry gently don’t you?
Nothing to do with a SOH Bella or the odd jokey post, but there is a time and a place - and this is one for consideration, kindness, and tact - not to mention common sense.

Actually, I didn't put anything on that post as I could not think of anything to say to help having never been in the situation myself.

I am going to defend myself here I did put something compassionate on the first post. I did not read all the pages of answers and ended up reading another post about peoples remarks. So I NEVER said anything inappropriate to the posters distressing news of loosing her husband.
This is what happens when more than one post pops up about the same subject and it wasn't me who put the crass comments. I do object and take offence when I am accused when I have not done anything wrong on the original post.

doodledog, yes you are right. My point though, is why does anyone mind posts being repeated? I suspect not everyone does mind and just regards it as a shrug and move on moment. It's not a big deal, really. Not to me anyway. Which is all I meant. Plus, I expect others don't mind either.

Clearly some do mind because they keep telling us.

But it will still happen so I hope it doesn't disturb them too much.

I don't know if others mind. I suspect that as with most things, some will and some won't. Clearly some don't as they keep telling us .

It's not something that keeps me awake at night, but in a thread about RTFT I gave an opinion, same as other people. I hope that doesn't disturb anyone?

I see my posts in pink and only the first post by the OP in green.
I am using a two-week-old Macbook Air. It was the same on my previous MacBook.
It does not work well on the Sainsbury delivery order but that is all I have found.

I only see the initial OP in Green on android phone, android tablet and PC. Subsequent posts are white.
My posts are always in pink.

Conclusion, it must depend on your device.

There is a history of requests to highlight, by colour, the original poster's continuing posts and, to date, no practical solution has been afforded by the GN powers.

In the absence of this, it is surely no hardship to pick out the OP's subsequent posts if you are invested in contributing to the thread, especially in circumstances such as these?

How hard is it to just read the thread?
Or not- but in that case don't comment on something which clearly doesn't interest you.

If you're questioning my common sense I suggest you reflect on what you have said. You and others have all yet again caused trouble and arguments because of your own personal feelings.
We are all brought up in different cultures and express our feelings in different ways. I was taught that you never cry or do your washing in the street.

Hi Galaxy on my Samsung Galaxy tablet they are not coloured apart from the opening post. So it does look as though it is device dependent. The facility to look at all the OPs posts together would help.

I also use a Samsung Galaxy tablet, but on my tablet ALL the OP's posts are coloured green and mine are coloured pink. All others are white.

I don’t remember that particular thread but in general where threads are longish you often just don’t have the time to read through them all unless you are spending 24 hours a day just staring at your iPad or whatever. It doesn’t mean you don’t care, just that in life other things are happening. If the management can’t be bothered to highlight posts from the original poster that is a problem for us all.
