I'm a nice granny, but my hubby is a naughty granddad, so we balance out quite well!

There's enough naughtiness in this life without this Grandma adding to it!
I love having fun with them and playing games, and as I'm a librarian, passing on a love of books.
They love the Ahlberg books Peepo and Each Peach Pear
Plum and are now reading for themselves.
Enjoying books together is a cosy pleasure!

I think I may be a naughty granny. My son keeps saying, 'Where's all this liberal stuff come from? You weren't like that when I was small.' Eldest grandson is 5 and can read just about anything. He loves Mr Gum. Maybe my zany gran thing is rubbing off on him.

Thought I was naughty, but it appears I am nice ....oh dear ! Another fondly held "rebel" belief laid to rest. Next thing you know I shall have morphed into a "sweet old lady" ! Aaaaargh !!!

I am a naughty Grandma not Granny lol I make up stories to tell my grandchildren. At the moment we have an invisible dragon called Rufus that lives on our roof and poo's glass pebbles which the children collect. They also believe that i turn into a witch on Halloween and fly over their houses on my broomstick and can turn them into frogs and the reason i have 5 cats is because witches have cats. So yes i suppose i am naughty :-).

I hope I'm a nice Granny. I certainly prefer the traditional tales with beautiful illustrations. I'm not a fan of the cartoon-like illustrations that seem to adorn the pages of almost all the newer story books.

A naughty granny - toilet humour is great for young boys!

I personally like story books that rhyme, and I hate overly long books that take ages to read and prolong bedtime. When they're younger though, nothing beats a good lift-the-flap book.

By being a naughty granny (or nana in my case) and indulging the grandchildren occasionally and choosing the drum kit, chocolate or tasteless ornament that Mum & Dad said 'Absolutely not' to, my delightful and cheeky grandchildren think I am very nice! We all love stories and books both fact and fiction and if they make us chuckle we enjoy them all the more!

Surprisingly, or at least in this case, I am a "nice* (ugh!) Nannie. My DC buy rude books for their nephews and nieces. Though I do enjoy reading them.

Definitely naughty with the older grandchildren. I love doing the different voices and sounds. ��I can be quite scary but wouldn't frighten the younger ones ��

Sounds like I'm probably a nice one as I enjoy introducing granddaughter to traditional stories - The Little Engine Who Could was a big hit, read with all the voices and sound effects, as was the Gruffalo (modern classic). I can be extremely naughty at times, as can Grandad, but usually when playing rather than in choice of books. I think the naughty books are great - just not got to any of these yet but am sure she'd love the idea of Santa having a wee, especially as she's still rather scared of him....!

I am a nice granny but the more I share the 'naughty books' that make my grandchildren chuckle I am 'on the turn' so to speak!!!

I must be naughty as they're the books which appeal to me. I love reading to my grandson, and there are 2 younger grandchildren who will be having their first books from me this Christmas.

Definitely a naughty grandma, although I do try to buy a good mixture of books when I am out, when I get home and look at them I always find that the naughty ones outnumber the good ones. I have a naughty granddaughter and a good grandson, maybe I should buy her good books and him, naughty books to try to even them up a bit. From choice I always go for the funny books to read.

My 3 and a half year old Grandson would love the naughty books, I'm sure they would make him chuckle! When he is a little bit older, I would like to read the traditional books with him.

He has such a good sense of humour, I love teasing him, pretending I've forgotten his name, I say your name is Harry isn't it(that's his baby brother)

I am probably a naughty nanny. I am a nice nan, giving her good food and doing everything according to her parents' instructions, protecting her as much as I can. I have bought her books such as Anne of Green Gables and similar books which she has enjoyed along with her beloved Harry Potter. However I have also rolled down hills with her, tickled her until she laughs hysterically and begs me to stop, given her too much chocolate on occasions and (for Christmas) bought her a set of false eyelashes !

Definitely trying to be naughty but also very nice ! There are very few books which I will not read every night for weeks but maybe that is because they all live abroad and I never see them for weeks on end !
I think I could still recite Ivor the Engine, Magic Porridge Pot and Henny Penny read endless times 35 years ago !

I think I am a bit naughty and good. My grandson is now 27 months and enjoys anything to do with wee wee as he is now being potty trained so we have a giggle together. He loved the story from the library about the little girl who couldn't use her potty as all the animals were using it and she was bursting!-can't remember the title. We enjoy all sots of books such as the "Hairy Maclary" tales, Alfie "slamming door" and many more. It is important that children can read what ever they enjoy . I cant wait to read him the Roald Dahl's "Enormous Crocodile."

I must be a 'nice' Nanna because I just love the 'Alfie' books and can't wait to buy and read all of them to my baby grand-daughters. My 3 daughters loved them all, and if I say so myself, I am a great story-reader, which really helps in creating a love of books in children.
I'm sure in time I will be a 'naughty' Nanna whenever the chance arises, but I do have to watch out for the 'look' that daughter #2 has mastered so well. The one that makes me feel like the naughty child!
She has already 'censored' what she will read to grand-baby #1 from one of my favourite books, saved and handed down. It is 'A Kiss On The Nose' by Tony Bradman. She won't read the rhymes where the little girl is being a bit naughty in case it gives 2 year old Sienna ideas!!
She is far stricter than I was as a mother, which is interesting.

I fall into the category of the nice Granny, this is partly me and partly because my little Grandson is autistic. He wouldn't 'get' a character who is being naughty or sarcastic, even though he is 8 years old.He likes stories with a strong moral flavour to them and always a happy outcome. So, nothing remotely scary either.I always have to search really hard these days to find books that fit the bill. He can read a little bit himself but mainly we read to him, he loves books and is very careful with them.I think the traditional books are best for him, where the children are fun but well behaved on the whole.

I'm a Grandad rather than a Granny.........and am happy to read whichever book one of my grandkids chooses to bring. But I do like the modern books myself.
