Not a bad start, I had Sennockian Star in the first race, came in first at 14/1, but I got 16/1. Didn't do all races, did Sheila's Buddy in the 4.50, no luck there. Have got 2 in the 5.20.

Huge stakes, 10p e/w!

I know there are other racing ladies out there!

Nonu Tue 29-Jul-14 17:13:13

Well there is one here and I am NOT a happy bunny.
BEACON

TOORMORE

only two who got near.

I have told himself that I don"t do well tomorrow I will be off to the coast Thursday.

Anyway enough of my woes , good for you PHO!

smile

Anne58 Tue 29-Jul-14 17:17:06

I didn't do either of them, odds not good enough for an e/w bet!

Not as good as last Thursday, 1 @20/1 and another @25/1 ! Still only 10p e/w though grin

Nonu Tue 29-Jul-14 17:22:40

smile for you!!

In fact I will go so far as to say I am a bloody unhappy bunny , there I "ve said it.!!

grin

My lucky 15 was anything but! Total misnomer.

Nonu Tue 29-Jul-14 18:09:27

SHABBY ---grin

By the way how are the elbows?

Tegan Tue 29-Jul-14 18:48:04

Didn't have a bet but had planned to back Noble Silk in the 3.40. Think he was very unlucky as he couldn't find a gap to get through; needed to win to get a penalty for the Ebor [which I also fancied him for]. Interesting that the Ch4 pundits mentioned the importance of course experience/form for the jockeys as Adam Kirby and George Baker won [their strike rate at Goodwood being very good]. Mark Johnsons horses are on fire at the moment; at least he mentioned Sennokian Star [the horse he doesn't mention seems to be the one that's going to win]. I may treat myself to a look at tomorrows runners but, since I stopped going to the gym I don't go near any bookies to place a bet. My 'follow over a cliff' horse for this year is Scotland and I think he's running this week; have backed him for the St Leger and the Ebor. Pleased to hear that Paul Hanagan isn't seriously injured after that fall; it looked really bad at first.

Nonu Tue 29-Jul-14 19:07:09

Yes I was pleased to hear Hanagan was not seriously injured as indeed the horse.

Tegan Tue 29-Jul-14 19:55:29

Horse has gone home in a plaster cast with a damaged knee; wouldn't have helped that he galloped off. Hopefully he'll be ok.

Some improvement with the elbows Nonu but early days as they have been neglected for a long time. I am so pleased to have found some other females who like horse racing. Whenever I mention it to my friends I can see their eyes gloss over. My family say that I take after my grandmother who loved horse racing in the Scobie Breasley, Ron Hutchinson and Lester Piggott era. She used to have a bet before betting shops became legal so she relied on the bookies runner coming to her house to pick up her bets. Lucky Kate was her nom de plume!

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 11:07:47

Kingman, Toronado

Toronado, Kingman.

What to pick ? I am between a rock and a hard place !!

hmmhmm

smile

Anne58 Wed 30-Jul-14 11:12:07

Oooops, better nip round to the shop and buy a paper!

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 11:14:00

grin

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 11:19:15

The nom de plumes seem so very antiquated now don"t they ?

Keep the treatment up Shabby and you will have elbows, the envy of your friends! smile

Teagan I will be looking out for Scotland!

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 11:21:00

aha just had another look in the RP, and Scotland is running at 2.30 !

Tegan Wed 30-Jul-14 11:25:34

shabby; I used to take my dads bets to the illegal bookies up the road [she was called Laura].3x4 penny double and a 6 penny treble every Saturday. I now have 25p ew bets at our local bookies, but only have a bet if I'm passing that way; I daren't have an internet account because I don't trust myself to not get carried away. I used to prefer NH racing and still do in a lot of ways but I've learned to love flat racing over the past few years as well. We've recently been to Newmarket for a few days. Racing used to be a very solitary interest for me but I'm now in a Racing Club, have a partner who follows it and am on several racing forums which means I can talk about racing 7 days a week [have made some good friends on those forums also, and we meet up sometimes]. When I was young everyone was interested in racing. They say I take after my horse mad grandfather.

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 11:29:14

Didn"t know there were racing forums. you live and learn every day!
grin

Tegan Wed 30-Jul-14 11:44:52

Theracingforum and Talking Horses are the best; very knowledgeable people on them.

Anne58 Wed 30-Jul-14 12:24:34

Well, I have made usual scan through for the "Jacks", found a couple here and there!

Any thoughts on Snow Sky? Odds don't suit me, but I've always liked her.

PS Word is that Barnet Fair, who didn't run yesterday is def. worth a punt on the next outing, which I think might be this coming Saturday. but could be wrong.

Tegan Wed 30-Jul-14 12:51:11

Fancy Brockwell ew in the first [although not quite down to his winning weight yet, and my old friend Scotland is running in one race. Looking forward to the clash between Toronado and Kingman, but wouldn't rule out the Godolphin horse either. I'll check out Barnet Fair.

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 12:55:04

Well I have a soft spot for Stoughty and James Doyle is up and coming , so they say, so you could do worse ! In the BF in^ RP ^ he is favourite.
So you have to go with your gut instinct, ^Scotland is also running which tegan made mention of .

To me though, Gosden might be ready for a win, bet he will be in the final charge ! Still we will see how it turns out

I WILL BE THERE, ON THE EDGE OF THE SETTEE !

Chuckle!

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 12:58:50

Yes pls do TEgan and let us know!

I tossed a coin in the end and came up with Kingman, seems to be only way I could do it. I won"t go each way though as guess the price will be VERY short.

Anne58 Wed 30-Jul-14 13:05:53

I am trying to avoid watching, sticking to my "no tv until 7.30pm" rule. I never watch TV during the day as a general rule, have no interest in the stuff on but could easily make an exception for racing!

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 13:22:16

Oh go on you know you want to !!

I don"t watch TV during the day either, I would guilty if I did and that I was wasting time !

Nonu Wed 30-Jul-14 13:23:10

RAcing is different though !
