I don't watch football.
And I am not Welsh
But are we excited? What do you think!!

Wales should be proud of their lads getting so far, what more could you expect when the ball is the wrong shape !

Gononsuch Thu 07-Jul-16 08:11:29

Whatever England does, Wales, as always, is sure to follow.smile

PRINTMISS Thu 07-Jul-16 08:15:37

They did their country proud, well done Wales I hope they get a rousing welcome home, from someone who does not much like the game.

Anniebach Thu 07-Jul-16 08:27:08

They will Printmiss smile .

What a wonderful story! So happy for them.

I have a holiday home in Dinard and the Welsh team has been so well received there that the Bretons call them "Nos amis les Gallois." Just shows how strong the celtic bond is and how proud they are of their roots.

Glad to be able to call myself Welsh when I visit Brittany this summer, (my grandfather was a clergyman near Swansea).

Anniebach Thu 07-Jul-16 08:58:27

The Welsh fans were praised for their behaviour and the welcome was fantastic, even Welsh flags were hanging on buildings

DaphneBroon Thu 07-Jul-16 09:00:49

Yes, gononsuch looks more like some England fans would do well to learn from the Welsh when it comes to sportsmanship. So you have nothing to crow about.

Anniebach Thu 07-Jul-16 09:34:38

Perhaps Gonosuch is proud of the throwing bottles at police behaviour of some English fans

rosesarered Thu 07-Jul-16 09:39:43

Well, we are all out of Europe now.⚽️

A Welcome Home!!
www.google.co.uk/#q=wales+welcome+home

and the subtitles said that nearly half of Wales watched the semi-final

What on earth were the other half (just over) doing??

Anniebach Fri 08-Jul-16 20:17:00

Out there ?

Jalima Fri 08-Jul-16 20:19:33

Ah, there's a thought, I do know a couple of people who were there!

I presume they meant on the tv, or did they mean that just under half the population were out there watching it for real?

Ana Fri 08-Jul-16 20:22:11

Don't be daft! grin

Anniebach Fri 08-Jul-16 20:24:41

Jalima. I would love to know how the number of viewers were counted

Jalima Fri 08-Jul-16 21:18:24

I think they recorded the shouts and groans from the tvs around Wales

Those who weren't watching the match, watching other programmes, were probably quiet because they were asleep.

DaphneBroon Fri 08-Jul-16 21:20:27

I have often wondered how viewing numbers are arrived at. Do they have a secret tracking device on our TVs? grin

So they could have analysed thousands of homes of people who only watch rugby .....

Anniebach Fri 08-Jul-16 21:42:34

I may be stupid but no sense in this. I know many like me who have no interest in football but watched Wales play. Also many who follow football watched Wales play in clubs and pubs , usually thry watch at home. People gathered in one house to watch together too. The rugby club was packed with rugby supporters watching the football for the Wales matches. Even the sisters in the convent watched
