I don't watch football.
And I am not Welsh
But are we excited? What do you think!!

Teetime Wed 06-Jul-16 09:32:46

Indeed good luck to them lets hope we learn some lessons!!

Gononsuch Wed 06-Jul-16 09:33:04

I've just got to agree. I wish England's Representative at the erous the best. smile

DaphneBroon Wed 06-Jul-16 09:35:07

Does England have a representative at Euro 2016 ? confused

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 09:36:07

The Welsh team represents Wales

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 09:39:17

And if the team chose to represent any other country it would be Scotland and Ireland

ninathenana Wed 06-Jul-16 09:39:38

No we don't Daphne what we do have is a UK representative. If we are allowed to cling on to Wales coat tails.
An this English woman wishes Wales the best of luck.

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 09:41:08

We are not representing the UK

DaphneBroon Wed 06-Jul-16 09:46:57

Calm down ninathenana and Ab!! smile
That was precisely why I asked my "disingenuous" question.
It reminds me of Andy Murray before he was really successful - if he lost he was Scottish, if he won it was a "triumph for GB tennis" confused
"Come away ra boyz!" grin ⚽️⚽️

As the thread title says, everyone's a Welshperson now!

And long may it last. Perhaps we should have a Welsh emoji, Gransnet Powers That Be?

Stansgran Wed 06-Jul-16 10:16:22

Oh dear God these miserably jingoistic people. It's why we have wars. Be British . May the best team win.

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 10:35:43

Win or lose they are Welsh heroes , just like the Pontypool front row grin

Diolch Saesneg cyfeillon. ( thank you English friends)

Cymru am Byth

ninathenana Wed 06-Jul-16 10:44:07

No Annie I know you aren't officially but as you are the only UK nation talented enough to still be in. A lot of non Welsh will be as I say "clinging onto your coat tails" by which I mean they will think of you as UK not a nation on it's own.
I'm not the least bit interested in football. I was simply trying to say that no way do the Welsh represent England.
That's me finished here.

Lillie Wed 06-Jul-16 11:09:10

I hope they play well, win or lose. I was wondering whether any royalty might attend? Charles certainly could as Prince of Wales.

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 11:15:00

No royals going, William would have if England were playing I suppose

hildajenniJ Wed 06-Jul-16 11:41:32

Come on Wales, you can do it! ?? There's wishful thinking. I regard myself as having dual nationality, after marrying a man with a Welsh surname. So I'm cheering them on. Unfortunately I can't watch the match live as I'm house sitting for my DD who doesn't have a tv licence, so I'll have to see it on catch-up later. ??

Anya Wed 06-Jul-16 12:40:34

Went to college in Wales. Scenery-wise it's god's own country. If you've ever driven into the Llangollen valley at sunset or when a storm is about to break, you'll know what I mean.

I'm totally in support of the Welsh tonight, but I won't be watching - I put the kiss of death on teams I watch.

Linsco56 Wed 06-Jul-16 12:50:12

I don't particularly enjoy watching football but I'm not going to miss this match. C'mon Wales! give it everything you've got. Good Luck.

Alima Wed 06-Jul-16 12:57:03

We will be watching tonight, c'mon Wales, you are doing a brilliant job over there!

MrsPickle Wed 06-Jul-16 13:00:41

There certainly is a wonderful vibe here in Wales today!

We will be watching, as long as we can receive ITV in this little part of Wales, which we sometimes can't.

I predict 3 - 1 Wales!

Ever optimistic....

BBbevan Wed 06-Jul-16 14:05:06

I don't care what the score is as long as they win.

felice Wed 06-Jul-16 14:10:44

Good luck Wales, from Belguim, my Doctor said yesterday they were all rooting for Wales.

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 14:17:43

Anya, please keep your TVs off , please, I am begging you

Anniebach Wed 06-Jul-16 14:18:22

Thank you Belguim.

LullyDully Wed 06-Jul-16 15:57:40

I just hope they win I also hope they have some Welsh commentators who do not talk about England looking at half term like they did last week.!! !!! Come on Wales.
