If you want thicker, fuller looking hair...

My once luxuriant hair has become finer and drier over recent years, so I'm always on the lookout for hair products to help. I recently read a recommendation for Charles Worthington Instant Amplifying Volume Treatment and to my amazement, it works!
I've tried lots of different sprays, almost all of which haven't worked particularly well and some dried my hair out even more. You put this on in the shower instead of a conditioner, rinse it out and my hair felt thicker even after towel drying. It blow dried into shape easily and is soft and shiny. The results are so unbelievable I felt I had to share with other Gransnetters. It costs £14.99 in Boots, which is expensive - but I have wasted a lot more on products which didn't work.

Thank you Ruthdpl, having the same problematic hair as you I have spent a fortune on volumising shampoo/conditioners to no avail, going up to town tomorrow, Boots will be the first stop!

Oh me too! I have very fine hair which defies styling and takes its own scruffy course. I will keep that solution in mind.

Thanks for this tip. I am going to give it a try too. Would it be too much if we were allowede to keep our dark thick well behaved hair as we get older?

I wake up with 'birds nest' hair every morning nowadays, so I have to wash & style it every day. I once answered the door with the 'look' completed by my fluffy red dressing gown - and the 2 people who were there selling religion, made their excuses & dashed off down the path! Every cloud....

Bought it, used it, LOVE IT! this really works, thank you Ruthdpl.

Hey Marigold, I'm so glad it worked for you too. I would normally be a bit hesitant about recommending things to others but I just had to share this. My hairdresser said that if I used the sprays as well, I'd have 'the biggest blow dry, this side of Alabama'!

I can't find it anywhere. Not even on boots online.

Here you are gillybob.

I have masses of hair, but I have a friend who doesn't, so shall tell her. Maybe I should be asking for the best smoothing serum for thick coarse long curly hair.

gillybob Thu 13-Jun-13 13:37:43

Thanks for that janerowena I don't know where I have been looking!

sounds like a useful tip Ruthdpl, so thanks for that! How many treatments do you get for the £15?

NannaAnna Thu 31-Oct-13 22:38:42

Isn't this an advert???

gracesmum Thu 31-Oct-13 23:17:58

I was wondering................................................hmm

Galen Thu 31-Oct-13 23:35:15

And me?

Anne58 Thu 31-Oct-13 23:37:43

Seems to have been sorted!

Nelliemoser Fri 01-Nov-13 10:17:08

IMO It's a paired advert. The like of which seems to get put on shopping channels, one person backing up the endorsement of the other with anecdotal tales of how it has helped them.

Look at the way its written. I am sure this is advertising.
Am I the only one who thinks this writing style is contrived?

gracesmum Fri 01-Nov-13 10:32:42

Nope, I reported it and have had that acknowledged, but as it is still there, presumably has been deemed legit.
I thibk it is just like the likes of QVC where 2 people gush over some unspeakable outfit/piece of jewellery/overpriced product - I find it hilarious but can understand how easy it is to be swept into it!!shock

Well I bought this and it sits in the cupboard. I found it wasn't even useful as conditioner let alone a hair thickner. My usual conditioner is herbal essence beautiful ends which comes in a red tub. I like this, you don't need much and I comb it through and the comb just slides through my hair. No thickening though.

So marigold1 and ruthdpl - still advocating your "wonder product"???

Anne58 Sun 03-Nov-13 22:24:47

Looks unlikely, graces !

rosesarered Mon 04-Nov-13 11:05:46

Dont know if this is legit or not, it certainly is an advertised product, whether it works for you or not is another matter, but cant put it to the test because I cant find it available to buy in the shops here.

sunseeker Mon 04-Nov-13 11:10:40

I did buy a small bottle of this (the size you can take on a plane). Very expensive and to be honest no better than my usual Pantene shampoo and conditioner.

Galen Mon 04-Nov-13 11:39:11

Ladies, ladies! Naming products? You'll be up before the GNHQ advertising standards committee.

Caramac Mon 04-Nov-13 19:10:36

I was going to mention a product my salon owner daughter recommended to me but am concerned that it might be advertising.....
My hair has always been fine but had thinned even more. DD said its down to the medication I take. I have kept my hair short for years now because of this but as I am ageing - just a bit you know - I wanted a softer look.
The product I use is a shampoo and conditioner not available in the shops, salon and online.
It has made a noticeable difference and I am growing my hair a bit longer.
Sophie Ellis-Bexter uses it I read somewhere. It is recommended for chemically treated/weakened hair and also for those of a more mature age.
It's not cheap to buy but lasts ages so vfm.
PM me if you want to know, don't PM me if you're not interested.
