A recent article suggested that a Brazilian or Hollywood is the norm. Is this true for older ladies? Has this been discussed before?

My DGC always say they want to poo , nicer IMO than , I want to shit !
In fact nicer then any one saying they want have a shit .

Jane I did suggest that it was not actually a euphemism (GK eu=good; phemos= speak)!

I am happy to acknowledge that it is probably now an accepted anatomical term, but has only been thus for a few hundred years. Which probably validates it! grin

Respect, Jess!

This is putting me off my tea!

grin

Sorry Ariadne <goes into Bernard Woolley mode> you did say it wasn't a euphemism in 'the truest sense of the word' and that seemed to suggest that it could therefore be a euphemism in a general sort of way.... if you see what I mean.
Sorry. Off to get the diinner ready now grin

OMG... too much information surely? We really cares what other people do down there??

Another thought occurred to me, while waiting to be served in the Post office and standing next to the depilatories (as you do these days).
It is not always a case of shaving bags. Those who take it seriously wax often in salon. The Brazilian, I understand includes the whole pelvic area, all the way up to the coccyx. (is that Latin or Greek?)
I really cannot imagine paying someone to do this - and just how much must it hurt? So pain initially and then discomfort on re-growth. Sounds like self-punishment to me.
BTW - hairdressers round here started advertising the "Brazilian blow dry". Why, I wondered, would anyone want to go to the hairdresser's to have their pubic hair blow dried?
Turns out this was a misunderstanding on my part - its just something they do to make hair come out straight and shiny. grin

One of the funniest episodes of Mrs Brown's Boys centered round Agnes doing a wax job on herself... My legs were crossed, I confess...

I think its great that these matters are discussed openly, Being brought up in the 40s/50s I knew nothing about sex and very little about my body when I married. And 50 years later I don't know that much!
I noticed someone said that their genital hair ( hope that term doesn't bother anyone!) was thinning. So can anyone tell me why that hasn't happened to me, unfortunately, but the hair on my head is beginning to thin, much to my horror. I'm in my late 60s.

Difficult to see without a mirror. Stomach gets in the way.

JessM Fri 05-Jul-13 17:30:11

Mysteries of nature helmacd some people get hairier with age and some less so.There has been discussion on GN before e.g. of some legs getting hairier and other peoples legs getting less so.
Just to add to the mix some bits can get hairier (eyebrows, chins etc) while other areas may thin. Suspect some are hormone related e.g. receding hair to testosterone, armpit hair to oestrogen. Or that kind of thing.

J - That gave me a good giggle! Much needed.
There are some times when you are quite refreshing.

Butty Fri 05-Jul-13 17:37:20

I forgot the grin

suzied Fri 05-Jul-13 18:44:40

J - if you had a misunderstanding about Brazillian blow dry -have you heard of a "vajazzle"! ? Only those who watch the Only Way is Essex may understand that one!

j08 Fri 05-Jul-13 19:06:25

That was jess not me.

j08 Fri 05-Jul-13 19:07:17

I wouldn't trust it meself! hmm

Ana Fri 05-Jul-13 19:08:02

We had a thread about vajazzling not that long ago...

Ana Fri 05-Jul-13 19:10:33

At least, I thought we had - can't find it now! grin

Ana Fri 05-Jul-13 21:26:24

Actually, it seems like a misnomer to me. It isn't jazzing up or bejewelling one's vagina, is it? It's the mons again...confused

Ella46 Fri 05-Jul-13 22:23:32

I don't remember that one Ana no surprise there, are you sure it wasn't on Mumsnet?

j08 Fri 05-Jul-13 22:24:31

I'm sure I can remember it.

j08 Fri 05-Jul-13 22:28:45
