Dee's post on the knickers thread www.gransnet.com/forums/style_and_beauty/1219361-Now-that-weve-discussed-the-comfy-bra-what-about-the-knickers made me think - does anyone match their bra and their knickers? I use to back in the day but now we've been married for decades it hasn't even crossed my mind! blush

Frankly if my right knicker leg matches my left, I'm happy!grin

whitewave Thu 01-Oct-15 15:38:30

grin and me

Mine always match - both a shade of grey. grin (Nothing like the book unfortunately!)

Actually, I do have two 'sets' which I try and wear on special occasions. Just having them on does set me up for the evening. Maybe I should make more of an effort on a daily basis...

Always and as often as possible match the clothes I wear on top. I always think if I was run over by a steam roller I wouldn't be able to look the doctors and nurses in the eye in A & E if I wasn't all matching and clean daily. I do love nice lingerie and have about 30 sets.

yeah- black goes with black- end off ;)

rosesarered Thu 01-Oct-15 17:02:22

Teetime, are they all on hangers in the wardrobe?grin Seriously, you have a lot of underwear.

tanith Thu 01-Oct-15 17:02:36

Clean but not matching , can't be asked unless its a special occasion grin

whitewave Thu 01-Oct-15 17:13:21

Blimey 30 sets of underwear! I wouldn't have enough spacegrin to store it all.

Pants almost always black, as I wear dark trousers. I have a few skin coloured pairs for under lighter bottoms. I have several skin tone bras plus black and a few colours, which I always match as closely as possible to my top. Therefore, pants and bra frequently don't match.

I once did a lingerie making course consequently I have some gorgeous matching silk camisoles, knickers , slips and I even made a couple of bras. But the silk is very delicate and isn't for everyday. Since doing the course I have bought several sets of matching - M and S autograph and even Primark have some nice sets and I do enjoy wearing matching.

No, I have never really bothered since I stopped wearing white underwear (because of an unfortunate lighting in a nightclub incident many years ago!).

I wear mostly nude or grey bras, as they don't show as much underneath thin summer clothing, and pants in mainly grey or mauve that wouldn't show under white linen trousers. Not that I wear white linen trousers all that often, but I don't want to have to think about it.

I have white, black, nude, grey, pink and purple bras, and numerous pairs of knickers in all the above colours. I do wear white with white, grey with grey, etc, but very few of them are actual sets. I have knickers in other colours that just don't get worn (I sometimes wonder how I've accumulated all this knicker bounty grin) - they're just hanging around waiting for me to find them partners in the next M & S bra sale.

Blimey I need to get my act together. I grab the first things I see when I open the drawer in the morning. They rarely match blush

NotTooOld Thu 01-Oct-15 18:42:30

THIRTY matching sets! Wow! I only buy black and white, so it's not too difficult to match them up but they are not 'sets' as such. I must admit I feel a tad uncomfortable if I somehow end up with a white bra and black knickers which is ridiculous I know. Actually, I'd love to buy beautiful matching sets (although you'd need two pairs of knickers to one bra, wouldn't you?) but I would never find a set to fit top and bottom (see my previous posts on the 'comfortable bras' thread!)

FarNorth Thu 01-Oct-15 18:52:39

I wear knickers in whatever colour I fancy that day (I have a varied selection) usually with a white (greyish) bra.
If I'm wearing some kind of casual top where a bra strap might peek out of the neckline, then I put on a black bra.
I couldn't cope / be bothered with all the careful matching up that some of you do - who knew. If I get run over and the medical staff are shocked by my sloppy underwear, I'm sure they'll soon get over it. grin

NotTooOld Thu 01-Oct-15 19:04:32

Anyway, FarNorth, if you were that badly damaged (heaven forbid) they'd cut it off you anyway. grin

Luckygirl Thu 01-Oct-15 19:15:00

Never ever - I just grab what comes to hand!

Anne58 Thu 01-Oct-15 19:22:50

Shysal I wish I had a lighter bottom!

NotTooOld Thu 01-Oct-15 19:28:06

phoenix - grin

Teetime Thu 01-Oct-15 19:39:05

No they are in one drawer folded and colour coded from white through to black in beautifully serried rows like in a posh underwear shop! smile Love my knicker drawer.

Cherrytree59 Thu 01-Oct-15 19:58:45

Wow teetime what's your other drawers like? Bet your wardrobe is organised as well. I dream about lovely organised cupboards espcially a linen cupboardsmile

Pittcity Thu 01-Oct-15 20:08:08

The matching sets nearly always have nylon knickers and I must have cotton! So I wear dark undies with dark clothes and light with light so not usually matching but always comfy.

Deedaa Thu 01-Oct-15 20:42:59

I like matchingish underwear. Usually the same colour but not always the same style or fabric. I have a nice cream and black silk set for nights out but it's getting worn less and less sad

I seem to have accumulated loads of knickers but they are all shoved into a drawer in a heap.

Maggiemaybe Thu 01-Oct-15 23:17:19

My underwear collection's all in a big underbed storage box since it outgrew the wardrobe drawer. Not tidy at all, though I throw things into 3 vague sections in there - knickers, bras, hosiery. Easy to grab and go.
