If you have bought any clothes, shoes/boots etc in the last week, thought it may be fun to say what the item was, where you bought it,and if it's for something special, tell us? It may give us some good ideas.smile

I've bought DGD's and DGS toys for Christmas, but I must remember not to buy too many, their parents have warned me already no more please!!!!!! When ever I go out with an intention to treat myself I can never see anything I like.

Following a little weight loss I've been trying to smarten up my wardrobe, too many years of baggy clothes. This week I bought a smart black jacket , still to arrive, a permanent poppy brooch and 2 new nighties. Trying to curb shopping in preparation for DGC's Christmas.

NanKate Tue 27-Oct-15 15:36:59

Ana do you wear a fur coat and no knickers in hospital ?

Westie where did you get the permanent poppy from please ?

Ana Tue 27-Oct-15 15:39:35

No. A nightie or pyjamas and no knickers.

A fur coat would be much too hot!

Lona Tue 27-Oct-15 15:53:49

I don't wear knickers in hospital either Ana, I hate wearing them in bed!

Ana Tue 27-Oct-15 16:10:24

Phew, I was beginning to think I must be some sort of deviant, Lona! grin

rosesarered Tue 27-Oct-15 16:25:01

Well,It's understandableAna ( no pants in hospital) because if you did, it would make struggling onto a bedpan all the more difficult!grin
I also think that Nankate is confusing you with an Essex girl ( fur coat, no Knickers.) Joke! All you Essex girls, chill.

In Yorkshire, we used to say ' red hat, no knickers' grin

Maggiemaybe Tue 27-Oct-15 16:38:28

I've also had "red shoes, no knickers" shouted after me, rosesarered!

Bought a nice compact printer to replace the geriatric one which has finally given up the ghost, great photos for various Mothers and son.
Just noticed this is under style and beauty, ah well.
It's Fur Coat and nae knickers in Edinburgh, mainly aimed at the Morningside area, quite close to where i grew up.

Two Marks and Sparks thermal long sleeved vest tops, one black with sparkles, the other red with sparkles. A brassiere. Total support, non wired, full cup, smoothing. Almond. A pack of black and white striped socks.

Twenty very dark (almost black) violas to plant in trough with mini daffodils.

Tegan Tue 27-Oct-15 23:49:21

I love black violas, but never thought to plant them with daffodils. Thanks for the idea.

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 28-Oct-15 08:43:16

Oh yes! I bought some violas too! Purple. And some wallflower plants to put in with the tulip bulbs.

rosesarered Wed 28-Oct-15 08:52:30

Jingl M&S seem to be doing well out of you!

I bought a pair of jeggings from Per Una; they are wonderfully stretchy and skim over the lumps and bumps!

I bought a fluffy jacket from Lidls. Only £6.99, with "thumb holes" I wouldn't wear it outside but indoors over a t_shirt, it's very warm and snuggly! wink

Cashmere is expensive but it is an investment if you treat it carefully. I have had my V neck black cashmere sweater for years and with well made black trousers it is my standard evening gear. I just add some bling and a colourful scarf and that will take me anywhere. It looks fine with either boots, flats or heels depending on the occasion.
My other faithful standby is a grey sweater and flannel trousers. I travel a lot and these two outfits with accessories is often all I need to look smart and comfortable. So, expensive? Not really. Take good care quality items and you save money!

I bought a gorgeous pair of totally indulgent shoes from Joe Browns. Grey suede with a high heel, floral side panels & fasten with a large grey satin ribbon. Then I had to have to tunic to go with them. It is ages since I have seen something I just could not resist & I LOVE them.

Help. I would like to buy something quite soon! Am looking for a long padded gilet . My friend arrived in a lovely bright pink one that reached her hip level that she bought on a market stall in France. Everything I have looked at in UK is too short for me. Has anyone any suggestions? Even Long Tall Sally's seems short, ie. just below waist.

I did buy some silk socks from Patra and they are lovely, are lightly elasticated and have no seams along the toes to rub.

I bought a pair of suede ankle bots from next which are very comfy and look great with jeans and leggings.

We're on holiday in Alicante. I've just bought DD a sleeveless coat in Zara. £80 at home - £60 here for the exact same thing! Bought DGD some gorgeous shoes and intend buying myself some beautiful leather boots at a fraction of the price I would pay at home. And that's me only starting my shopping!
