I normally have a lot of time for Camilla and like her style, but this time her fashion adviser somebody needs sacking!!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 18:24:30

No! Love the cream! Like a fairy. Or a princess. Sigh.

Anniebach Mon 30-May-16 19:18:24

Criticism of her weight, surely not?

Magsymoo Mon 30-May-16 19:56:49

And what about Charles. What was he wearing all this time? Let's not just look at women as clothes horses, that's exactly what the press did to Diana and it destroyed her. I call once more for female solidarity and that means not stooping to the level of certain newspapers who dissect women's looks and outfits and ignore them as people.

Ana Mon 30-May-16 20:05:42

I don't think any 'clothes horse' label destroyed Diana. She loved being the centre of attention!

Magsymoo Mon 30-May-16 20:14:31

Yes, she loved it so much she became bulimic. I'm no fan of the royal family, I'd quite happily do away with the whole institution of inherited monarchy but I do not like to see women criticised or belittled for their appearance. Women should stand up for each other. Did you see last week the survey which revealed that half of the people who post insults to women on social media are women!

Juliette Mon 30-May-16 20:17:30

Love the chap in the background of picture two.
Think he might have an itch in the trouser department. smile

Jalima Mon 30-May-16 20:37:34

Yes, she loved it so much she became bulimic

It is not a proven fact that media attention was the cause.
She had a very troubled childhood and as it turned out, an unhappy marriage.

Jalima Mon 30-May-16 20:40:14

I don't think anyone is criticising the Duchess of Cornwall for anything other than her poor choice of frock on this occasion.

Are you on GN and are you reading this Camilla?
If so, I would confine that dress to the rag bag, the charity shop, or post it to jinglebellsfrocks, she loves frocks grin
Normally I admire your choice of clothes but not this time.

Jalima Mon 30-May-16 20:41:00

sorry, superfluous e

willsmadnan Mon 30-May-16 21:01:52

The D of C isn't being vilified on GN magsymoo. I think she's a strong enough woman to shrug any critism off.The late POW was a manipulator par excellence, and lived for personal appearance and public adoration. Somewhat like the Kardashion females of today.
BTW for what its worth, I suspect Charles was wearing his patched old Barbour whilst fossicking around a few Norfolk churches or talking to a tree in Highgrove. He certainly wasn't sweating it out in Andalusia.

Magsymoo Mon 30-May-16 21:49:23

Camills doesn't have any choice but to put up with all the comments thrown her way. And poor old Diana, still getting the blame for all the ills of that dis functional family.

janc Mon 30-May-16 22:07:10

I am sure that she will not be bothered who likes or doesn't like her evening wear, personally I don't have time for the woman.Charles likes her and at the end of the day, he is happy I suppose.

mrsmopp Mon 30-May-16 22:41:04

Why bring Diana into this, she has been dead for nearly 19 years, but she always looked fantastic. Camilla has an unlimited clothes budget and access to top stylists but she couldn't see that this particular dress was a disaster. Some members of the Royal family often look all wrong, they wear the most ludicrous hats e.g. Beatrice and her sister at a William's wedding among others. I wonder which charity shop they send their cast-off to? Camilla is a gran, perhaps she is on here, reading all this!
Sorry, Camilla!!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 22:51:57

I don't think Charles went to the wedding.

merlotgran Mon 30-May-16 23:06:52

I like Camilla. Some dresses look worse in photographs and it definitely doesn't do her any favours but I bet she wishes she'd never agreed to wear it. Not her style at all.

merlotgran Mon 30-May-16 23:09:06

Diana wore some disastrous outfits as well.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 23:12:10

Didn't go to trousers

I think it was very suitable and she looked lovely. Very Duchess-ish.

mrsmopp Mon 30-May-16 23:13:15

Charles didn't go to William's wedding???
Really? Why? I didn't know that!

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 23:14:01

look at all the yardsa of material the bride dragged around

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 23:16:13

It wasn't William's wedding. It was Duke of Wellington's daughter to some Spanish bloke.

jinglbellsfrocks Mon 30-May-16 23:16:36

It was last week.

Lilyflower Tue 31-May-16 09:54:35

Doesn't she know that ONLY the bride gets to wear white or cream at a wedding?

AnnieGran Tue 31-May-16 12:38:01

Oh my! That is truly horrible. Makes me feel quite close to her.smile

Lazigirl Tue 31-May-16 16:38:18

Can't believe the bitchiness going on here. I'm with Magsymoo on this one.

Anniebach Tue 31-May-16 16:55:52

Lazigirl, you have never looked at a wedding and said - I don't like that dress , or said the same to a companion in the street/pub/tea rooms / at home ?
