According to the Daily Mail Online, This Dress is the latest must have for fashion bloggers.
It looks to me like a nightdress my Granny might have worn.
What do you think?

cornergran Thu 15-Feb-18 13:55:15

I often think its easy to predict what will appear in the sale, grin.

Tegan2 Thu 15-Feb-18 13:57:43

Gabriella; can I just point out that janeainsworth is the sort of person who would look great wearing a dustbin bag [a la Debbie Harry!]....

I’ll shop elsewhere ...me thinks

Yve1 Thu 15-Feb-18 14:08:01

Very 'Little House on the Prairie'. Not for me!

HannahLoisLuke Thu 15-Feb-18 14:25:19

It's just awful. Thought at first it was a maxi which would have been better, but no, it's that horrid frumpy mid calf length that suits nobody, not in that style anyway. And whose idea was it to make it in granny corset pink!

Madmartha Thu 15-Feb-18 14:31:23

Usual Daily Flail rubbish

Jalima1108 Thu 15-Feb-18 14:33:43

It's Marks and Spencer's not a DM creation

confused

Just like the Guardian's 'poser dress' then!

Put it on a certain royal to be and doubt you would be asking that question.

GabriellaG Thu 15-Feb-18 14:43:26

Are you always so foul-mouthed when someone asks an innocuous question?

GabriellaG Thu 15-Feb-18 14:44:17

That's to janeainsworth

GabriellaG Thu 15-Feb-18 14:47:13

Tegan You obviously live in her pocket...so to speak.

dogsmother Thu 15-Feb-18 14:50:23

This revolting colour is favored by my dd, she is young fashion conscious and it does suit her.
I think it’s the colour of a washed out dish cloth.... and I think we here ar3 just too old to consider wearing that dress it is hideous and not for th3 shape of an older lady no matter how well preserved.

keffie Thu 15-Feb-18 14:55:29

I wouldnt even wear it for bed and that's the sort of thing in the Victorian era they wore for bed then. They are having a giraffe! It is beyond awful. They must have mixed the dates up and think it's April fools day

Saggi Thu 15-Feb-18 15:20:18

OMG are M&S bonkers..... No wonder why they're going 'down the pan' fashion wise! It's gross ... don't they realise that today's 60+ don't want to wasn't to walk around looking like our GREAT-grandmothers!! Can't image the guffawing and pitying looks if I turned up in the playground to pick up the grandkids in THAT?

Nannapat1 Thu 15-Feb-18 15:31:45

It's very retro/60s. I wouldn't personally want to wear that style again but I'm sure that it will appeal to the younger generation!

MawBroon Thu 15-Feb-18 15:32:15

What’s with the gratuitous insults to Tegan ?
She has met JaneAinsworth , have you?
I wonder do I detect a touch of the little green eye? envy

Lostmyglassesxx Thu 15-Feb-18 15:51:38

Well who knew a dress could cause somebody to get their MandS knickers in a knot ...!
On the subject of the dress..in H and m it would be fine .in MandS it’s not ..because the young girl that would look nice in it and that we wish we all were does not shop in Mand S
The product in stores is often miles away from the original concept for all sorts of reasons..product is design and often catwalk led and catwalk fashion is often a derivative of vintage clothing..fashion is allreinvention and diffusion with a twist
And margins and manufacturing constraints ruin the original concept of a beautiful designer frock ona catwalk in Milan
.BUT to,all the MandS haters and I always ask, this ..what do,you want them to sell.. and nobody has come up,with the answer...

AlexG Thu 15-Feb-18 16:00:01

M&S have introduced a range for us larger ladies. Now I don't know if any of you fit this description, but if you are anything like me, I wouldn't be seen dead in any of this range. Who they found to choose it must have done so in the dark and chosen with a pin, like pin the tail on the donkey. Absolutely unwearable and certainly not for the 'larger lady'. Get real M&S, that is not what we want!

Stella14 Thu 15-Feb-18 16:05:47

If you’re Amish, it probably is de rigur!

Camelotclub Thu 15-Feb-18 16:12:40

It even looks hideous on a size 8 5'10" model.

Eloethan Thu 15-Feb-18 16:43:15

Well done jainainsworth - gabriella's comment deserved your pithy response.

floorflock Thu 15-Feb-18 16:54:48

You couldn't pay me to wear it...

janeainsworth Thu 15-Feb-18 16:59:04

Thanks eloethan. It was obviously a bit too pithy for GNHQ grin
