I loved it, stylish, chic and very Megan, the tiara was beautiful, she wore it well. Standout outfit for me was Amal Clooney, what a stunning colour, thought Pippa looked gorgeous too, posh, not so much....... what did you all think?

Meghan so elegant and calm, Harry welling with emotion, a lovely service. Most of the guests looked fantastic, but not so the York girls - frumpy, Posh - miserable as sin and dowdy, Beckham - chewing gum, Richard and Judy's daughter - completely without class. Several members of the congregation including the royals sniggering at the US pastor and poor Doria sat all alone throughout trying to contain all emotion.

Loved it all, but I do agree with the comments about Beatrice and Eugenie - frumpy is that I'd said when I first saw them. Didn't like Fergie's hat though! But Meghan looked fabulous. And her mum was a real star - very dignified. Brilliant that it all went so well, and that there's been an event that makes you proud (well it does me!) to be British. The chapel looked wonderful and as for the flowers/foliage or whatever you call it - wow.

I thought the dress and tiara/veil/train combination were quite perfect, the couple both looked amazing throughout, loved the twins carrying the train (their mum must've been so proud), really liked the navy girls (VB, Fergie and Sarah Rafferty) but even the dresses I didn't particularly like looked pretty good, except the frumpy ones previously mentioned. (I thought Carey Milligan looked the epitome of summer fashion, and with Marcus Mumford in morning dress, she didn't looked underdressed)
Compared with previous very formal weddings, the pageboy uniform was good.

Very emotional day as we all love Harry. Felt sorry for Megan's mum lots of people will of been in that situation.just not to that extent of millions watching. Thought it was nice of Charles extending a hand out to her.

Anniebach Sun 20-May-18 11:54:58

But we don’t all love Harry sorry .

Thought it was a lovely ceremony apart from the long winded sermon from the American bishop...was it ever going to end.. Meghan looked radiant. Loved the fact the flowers for the bouquets had been picked from their garden and included forget-me-nots in memory of Diana. I think the York princesses had simply tried to keep it very low key this time as always one or the other is constantly criticised in the press for what they wear at Royal weddings...they can never do right for doing wrong it seems. The Queen looked lovely as she always does and was pleased to see the Duke of Edinburgh after his op looking well. I was a bit disappointed to not see more of the bridesmaids and pageboys afterwards, often they follow on the procession in another carriage at other Royal weddings and was expecting to see this happen yesterday but maybe not having any adult bridesmaids to oversee things contributed to this. A lovely day for them all and hopefully a very happy marriage for Harry and Meghan.

Gorgeous Harry. Beautiful Meghan, but the dress a tad too loose, may would have looked better in different material.
The music was absolutely sublime, but I am afraid the royals let themselves down, by sniggering or looking pained at the long speech, especially the way Kate looked at Camilla. Yes it was long speech, and maybe someone should have briefed him to keep it shorter, but it was lively and inspired, a tad cheeky really. No one has mentioned the cellist, also mixed race. He was absolutely amazing.

quizqueen Sun 20-May-18 12:09:51

Sadly, I was disappointed by Meghan's wedding dress. It was too plain, extremely boring and just hung on her slender frame. The tiara was too chunky and old fashioned.
I do realise she was a second time bride so shouldn't go over the top but I thought her evening outfit was much nicer and more her style. The bridesmaids looked nice but Harry, William and the pageboys were very over dressed for the weather with tunics far too long.

anitamp1 Sun 20-May-18 12:10:38

Megan looked lovely. George and Amal gorgeous and very classy. Chewing gum ok at a football match but not at a royal event David. Victoria looked miserable as usual. Thought Eugene and Beatrice looked dowdy for young girls. But Harry and Megan both looked so happy. He clearly adores her. Hope she is good for him and they are happy together.

quizqueen Sun 20-May-18 12:15:25

I actually thought Meghan's mother looked the nicest in a simple, stylish matching dress and coat and was disappointed she didn't ( wasn't allowed?) to walk her daughter down the aisle. Beatrice looked her usual frumpy mess; the woman really has no fashion sense.

Anniebach Sun 20-May-18 12:25:12

Did the brides mother say she wanted to walk her daughter down , did the bride say she wanted her mother or anyone to walk her down the aisle.

goldengirl Sun 20-May-18 12:26:06

I did wonder whether Zara would last the service. Poor lass looked rather uncomfortable at times and her husband was doing his bit looking after her. Their baby is due soon I think. She did well to go - I can't imagine those seats are particularly comfortable! Good for her - though I guess she didn't have a lot of choice

icanhandthemback Sun 20-May-18 12:32:13

I loved the sermon from an enthusiastic person who spoke a lot of sense with a lot of humour. Much better than the dry sermons from the CofE lot who want to bore you to sleep.

I liked the plainness of the dress but hated the neckline and fit about the bust.

Overall, I thought it was lovely.

eazybee Sun 20-May-18 12:32:52

There were some amazing outfits, some very stylish ones, and some extremely odd ones. It puzzles me; when these glamorous women with unlimited money at their disposal go shopping, don't their couturiers advise them they look dreadful, or won't they listen? I thought Beatrice looked lovely at the Cambridges' wedding, but ruined it all with That Hat. The third/fourth wife, or was she his daughter(?) of Earl Spencer looked stunning, if somewhat remote.

knickas63 Sun 20-May-18 12:44:29

She looked, beautiful calm and elegant, however, just a tad too plain for me. My Best Dressed Guest was Kitty Spencer. I loved her outfit. I also thought Zara looked beautiful, but a tad trussed up.

jennymolly Sun 20-May-18 12:50:17

Grandma 70s , I'm surprised that you've never heard of Amal Clooney who is a very successful human rights lawyer from Buckinghamshire, state educated and very elegant to boot. Also interested as to why you think a veil is unacceptable in this day and age? Btw I loved everything abt the wedding. Thought Meghan looked amazing and spot on for a royal wedding.

pollyperkins Sun 20-May-18 12:50:40

As Ive put on another tvread I loved Meghans dress and though she and her Mum both looked dignified and elegant and much better than most of the royals and celebs. Doroa looked emotional a lot of the time but managed to keep it tothegether and remain dignified.
If the royals did snigger at the address thats just plain rude, esp S thd5y must be aware that cameras are on them. I suppose they are not used to that sort of sermon, common in nonconformist churches. Nice to hesr a bit of passion! He was a bit too long though.

luluaugust Sun 20-May-18 12:51:59

I liked the dress but it could have been a little more fitted to her, I wondered if she had lost a bit too much weight in the last few days. The tiara gave a 1930's look which I think it was. There was a lady in a pale pink fitted coat with large buttons down the front which I liked best very 1950's. Perhaps Mrs Clooney could take Beatrice to her dress makers. Well done Fergie I liked her hat. I thought the Queen didn't appear to be very happy I wondered if she was worrying about the D of E or not feeling 100% herself such a long day for them and hard pews! I am glad Zara got through the service I am sure I would have needed the loo by that stage of pregnancy.

BlueBelle Sun 20-May-18 13:00:08

Anniebach according to reports Meghan asked Prince Charles to walk her down the aisle and he said he was honoured to do so they apparently have a good relationship
I would think her Mum was probably totally overwhelmed by it all I know I would be
The bishop Michael Curry’s sermon was wonderful although I was nearly wetting myself laughing at the po faces in the congregation I thought one of the candles would go flying any moment
I too thought Zara might not get through the service at one point her legs were so spread I thought
whoops any minute now
I thought Andrews two girls looked appalling and is Victoria Beckham face like that because of plastic surgery or is she just miserable I ve never seen her smile and she is so thin
Who s kitty Spencer ?

GreenGran78 Sun 20-May-18 13:03:00

Daddima. No, the dress was not paid for by the taxpayers. Although it was a simple design the 83 flowers, representing every Commonwealth country, had to be researched and hand-embroidered. Hundreds of hours of work went into it, so it was expensive. The Queen had Commonwealth motifs on her Coronation robes, too. But there were only a handful of them then.

BlueBelle Sun 20-May-18 13:07:21

Meant to say I was surprised at how sour the Queen looked I never saw a flicker of a smile throughout I wonder if she was worrying about Phillip who I didn’t think looked at all well although he walked very upright and perky but his face and especially his eyes looked ill or maybe she’s not well herself they are both such an age to be doing these big things

Anniebach Sun 20-May-18 13:12:44

BlueBell, I was just replying to a post which questioned the mother not being allowed to walk her daughter down the aisle. Charles didn’t walk her down the aisle, she did that on her own, Charles escorted her in the Quire, the aisle is much longer than the Quire .

Victoria Beckham never smiles , surely an act for the camera. Megan never stops smiling

Anniebach Sun 20-May-18 13:19:56

St. George’s is the queens own chapel, has worshipped there all her life . Must have been difficult for her to listen to an evangelican sermon and a pop song in the same church as her parents and sister are interred , as a traditionalist I can sympathise with her .

mamamags Sun 20-May-18 13:31:12

I know it was the couples day, and all very nice viewing, but did anyone notice Tom Hardy.Grrrrr!!!! Bald but beatiful

starbox Sun 20-May-18 13:44:30

Meghan's dress really elegant- just proves my point that those ghastly ubiquitous strapless wedding gowns are really NOT as tasteful and elegant than the more traditional style!
