I loved it, stylish, chic and very Megan, the tiara was beautiful, she wore it well. Standout outfit for me was Amal Clooney, what a stunning colour, thought Pippa looked gorgeous too, posh, not so much....... what did you all think?

Ex tv actress marries a member of the British Royal family

Mapleleaf Mon 21-May-18 17:36:57

Oh dear, off we go again. I’m with soop - sigh.

DanniRae Mon 21-May-18 18:25:27

A big sigh from me too soop and Mapleleaf.........sad

Anniebach Mon 21-May-18 18:37:12

Is critcism banned again Danni ? Is holding different opinions on some things so wrong?

GillT57 Mon 21-May-18 18:42:30

Dress was elegant. Bride and groom happy. Victoria Beckham thinks she looks cool and mysterious, no love you look stuck up and bored. York girls need stylists. Meghan's Mother dignified. Elton John fat. Music wonderful. Preacher heart felt, genuine, refreshing, but maybe a little too long. Princess Anne had obviously dashed out wearing her dressing gown, having forgotten to put her frock on. Bride's attendants lovely. Anything else?

Besstwishes Mon 21-May-18 18:51:21

That just about sums it upgill ? but I did love the fabric and colour of PA’s frock.

anniebach I think we must live in a parallel universe! I saw a lovely woman who hasn’t sat on her backside thinking that the world owes her a living, marry someone who could so easily sit on his backside doing nothing too.

I wish them a long and happy life and every time you make a smart remark, (some of them I think are a bit beneath you) I’m sure others will counter it with their best wishes to the couple, because we all enjoyed it!

pollyperkins Mon 21-May-18 19:01:03

Ooh official photos released now. Lovely of the little ones. Didnt see enough of them at the wedding I thought.

pollyperkins Mon 21-May-18 19:09:44

And the Queen is smiling. P Philip looks skeletal and very old!

Anniebach Mon 21-May-18 19:23:09

Bestwishes, it would be easier to lie.

I did not like the veil , I said before the wedding I hoped she wouldn’t wear a veil. I would say the same of any divorcee in their mid thirties.

Is it written in blood that I must think the same as you? I do not and I do not expect anyone to think the same as me.

I have said I am troubled for Harry and I am. I really hope I can warm to her but as yet I cannot, I was uncomfortable with her poses when they announced their engagement. I was uncomfortable seeing a bride smile whilst exchanging marriage vows, I see nothing natural in her, perhaps this will change in time.

So no, my remarks are not beneath me, they anger you and I am sorry. I am curious why others who have been critical have not received posts addressed to them personally.

Mapleleaf Mon 21-May-18 19:27:31

Prince Philip is very old, though, isn't he - 97 next month. He's also recovering from a significant operation which will have taken its toll. Give the man some slack.

Maggiemaybe Mon 21-May-18 19:27:41

Yes, it's nice to see the photos of the children. I'd have liked to see more of them on the day too.

I really don't understand why posters have said that Harry sees Meghan as a mother substitute. Could someone please explain? If it's because she's nearly three years older I think we're stretching it a bit! grin If not, well I can't see any resemblance between a successful, confident, bi-racial American and the gauche, teenage English aristocrat that Diana was when she was engaged (or the woman she later became, for that matter).

Mapleleaf Mon 21-May-18 19:33:40

Actually, I smiled whilst taking my vows. We're still together 31 years later and very much in love. My husband smiled, too. I think it had something to do with being happy at what we were doing - a very precious thing to us. The vows were very special.

Besstwishes Mon 21-May-18 19:41:05

I’m not angry anniebach but the written word doesn’t let me sigh and most of your comments are so negative and personal to Harry’s wife.

I smiled when I took my vows back in the olden days because I was happy, still am.

I think that James Blunt also knows a bit about music too.

Anniebach Mon 21-May-18 19:50:38

I havn’t mentioned James Blunt, didn’t know he was at the wedding,

And I feel no satisfaction with my thoughts on the bride .

I have explained why I thought a sermon was wrong , I am a traditionalist . I expect sermons at Sunday and weekday services, I expect an address at an Anglican marriage service .

humptydumpty Mon 21-May-18 20:00:36

Your choice Annie, obviously not theirs. Horses for courses - neither is right or wrong.

Overthehills Mon 21-May-18 20:26:32

Love the official photos, especially of the little ones, they were so good. Maybe Annie’s doubts about the future of the young couple and her dislike of some aspects of the service come across as negativity but at least they aren’t nasty ...

Anniebach Mon 21-May-18 20:31:40

True humpty .

Overthehill, yes I am not bring nasty , I have said I hope they will be happy and I mean it, as I mean all I have said .

Overthehills Mon 21-May-18 20:46:07

Actually Annie I meant to say “might come across as negativity”. Sorry!

icanhandthemback Mon 21-May-18 20:58:41

I giggled all through our wedding service which I tend to do when I am nervous. I think I might have made Meghan look like an angel grin

Anniebach Mon 21-May-18 21:01:47

Overthehill, it probably does ?, never do word things properly

Besstwishes Mon 21-May-18 21:13:32

Sorry anniebach when you said that the only guest remotely connected to music was Elton John, I thought you had seen the guest list. My mistake.

Anniebach Mon 21-May-18 21:21:45

Never saw the guest list Besstwishes

Besstwishes Mon 21-May-18 21:48:35

Joss Stone was also there, so Elton John, as ‘the only one remotely connected to music’, had someone to sing along with.

Maggiemaybe Mon 21-May-18 21:58:54

And let's not forget the musical talent of Posh Spice. wink

Besstwishes Mon 21-May-18 22:02:31

I’ve never actually heard her sing.

But I’m sure that she would warble along with the best of them, smiling too I’m sure! I heard that Elton John performed during the reception and James Blunt said that he was begged not too!
