Well not the kindest of comments GabriellaG but hardly criminal.

I equate that description with dignified and reserved!
I would also point out that as I’m very disabled, it took me considerable effort to stand and pose for that picture!

I apologise if my comment ruffled a few feathers, it was a side-eye joke from earlier in the thread.
As a 74yrs old (in March) retired lawyer, maybe I feel a teensy tiny bit jealous as I'm certainly not matronly (reserved, dignified) and could never get away with wearing your lovely evening dress.
The fact that you made the effort to stand for the photo says much about your propriety and stoicism.

Well, back to the OP, I thought all the outfits shown were very uninspiring and I wouldn’t be seen dead in any of them.

A bit harsh Bella I would certainly be seen dead in them, but not alive.

I went to a huge M&S today and looked for dark blue velvet evening trousers. Apparently I can find some online because they didn't quite have any in the store.
Were they outside the store if not quite in I wondered to myself?

As I said, I saw some nice Boden ones but they wouldn't fit me (ages 3, 4, 5 only) but they did have some for women at £80!
