Megan’s choice of outfit at the Endeavour awards, what was the stylist thinking? Is it a dress? Is it a shirt tucked in wrong?I have been liking her styling lately but someone missed the mark tonight!

Bored of all the negative comments about the way that Meghan dresses.
Also, when will people get into their thickheads that her surname is no longer Markle ???? angry

Lily65 Sat 09-Feb-19 09:28:56

petra, I think the rolled up sleeves thing may be fashion?

When you say Wallis Simpson couldn't hold a candle to Meghan, you mean she was neat and tidy?

merlotgran Sat 09-Feb-19 09:42:46

It makes me laugh when people declare how bored/fed up/angry/ dismayed they are with negative comments about the RF then state they're not going to bother reading them in future.

Promises, promises.

The truth is they see a thread title and can't wait to zoom in on their high horses with their bossy comments.

The same will happen with the next thread and the next and the next. hmm

Commenting on royal fashion is not a personal attack.

jura2 Sat 09-Feb-19 09:46:22

Saying she could not hold a candle to Mrs Simpson- certainly sounds very personal. But if it makes you laugh - enjoy.

Gonegirl Sat 09-Feb-19 09:48:32

What the flip has Wallis Simpson got to do with the price of fish? confused

merlotgran Sat 09-Feb-19 09:49:32

I was wondering that, Gonegirl

Threads meander though.

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 09:50:41

She was a divorced American woman who married into the royal family

Gonegirl Sat 09-Feb-19 09:50:53

Oh I second RosieLeah's comment about the t-shirt and tight leggings! With the protruding belly button. grin

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 10:03:15

I think a loose, long t-shirt looks better than a dress which stretches under the bump

petra Sat 09-Feb-19 11:42:28

but if it makes you laugh...enjoy
Who's laughing? Certainly not me. Must be a Swiss humour thing.

Theoddbird Sat 09-Feb-19 13:19:32

When are people going to stop going on about what she wears. How would you like it if someone kept saying they didn't like the way YOU dressed. Leave her alone PLEASE

jura2 Sat 09-Feb-19 13:21:00

Merlot said clearly 'it made her laugh' - so I do hope she enjoys it. Not every post responds directly to you personally petra ;) lol. Is Merlot Swiss?

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 13:25:30

She is not the only person in the public eye whose choice of clothes are commented on . When a tv actress she willingly posed for the cameras

PECS Sat 09-Feb-19 14:20:44

She won't care anyway about GN opinions. Why would she? We don't know here & she has no idea we exist.
GN is not a top fashion mag critiquing her style. What it probably looks like to outsiders is just a bunch of disparate older white women (mostly) rather enjoying the chance to be unkind about the dress sense of a young, mixed race woman in a fortunate situation.

merlotgran Sat 09-Feb-19 14:47:25

I haven't got a clue what you're on about jura. What am I supposed to be enjoying? I didn't make any comments about Wallis Simpson.

What makes me laugh is people who criticise the comments of others and declare they're not going to bother reading them in future - Yeah right!

Try reading my posts properly and no, I'm not Swiss. My Sis-in-law is though and thankfully has a wonderful sense of humour and doesn't take people to task for their opinions.

MissAdventure Sat 09-Feb-19 14:49:56

I seem to remember as child, there being a bit of attention to princess Anne because she had a red streak in her hair.
Who cares?
Its chitchat, nothing more.

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 15:27:12

Pity race has been brought into this, chatting about clothes has nothing to do with the colour of skin,

Should Yasmin Alibhai-Brown stop criticising the queen because they have different skin colour ?

Bridgeit Sat 09-Feb-19 15:37:46

I’m sure plenty of us have chosen, worn & adored clothes which on reflection & on seeing photos or put on again have thought to our selves Why? Why did I choose that, let alone go out in it or to an event.!
I looked like Bo peep in one particular get up, but at the time I thought I was the ‘bees knees ‘ ( never quite got that phrase?) leave the woman alone, get on with your own lives, but be sure to look in the mirror before going out!
Oh & by the way , have any of you noticed or commented Prince Harry’s outfits ! ?

PECS Sat 09-Feb-19 15:52:54

* annie* really you are not so naive. I also mentioned age. Why pick on just one thing. Stop wooden spooning.

Nannylovesshopping Sat 09-Feb-19 16:56:50

The lovely Megan could be green and purple striped with
orange spots coloured skin, it was still an unusual maternity
outfit, now can we all please give it a rest, I promise never
again to comment on what anyone is wearing in the press?

Anniebach Sat 09-Feb-19 17:27:05

PECS you spoke of skin colour

Nanny41 Sat 09-Feb-19 18:38:02

Seadragon, thank you for the link, I hadnt seen the photos before, and I cant understand what the fuss is about,ok its not very flattering, but what is when you are so pregnant. She carried it off well I think.
Lets hope she has the baby soon and the fashion "police" can cease.

PECS Sat 09-Feb-19 19:08:53

Yes I did Annie I was describing the general GNer demographic compared to that of the woman being discussed. That is not ""bringing race into it" ..that is you noticing race over age and wealth which I also mentioned as descriptors. It is not necessarily helpful to be blind to someone's race, to pretend it isn't there!

Skweek1 Sat 09-Feb-19 19:39:18

I hadn't seen the outfit, couldn't care less what she wears, but just looked it up. Didn't think it was very flattering, but I wore an elasticated maxi skirt and a few t-shirts, a gypsy blouse and a pair of maternity slacks for the last4 or 5 months and I'm sure that many people didn't think that was particularly flattering either. No doubt she'll be expected to lose stones within days of the baby and dashing round looking glowing, fresh,, happy and relaxed in a pretty bright outfit, suitable for the occasion.

eazybee Sat 09-Feb-19 20:00:41

I liked my maternity clothes; nearest I ever came to having a capsule wardrobe.
Two pinafore dresses, not too baggy; two pairs of trousers with a fetching expanding panel; two smock type tops, a sleeveless summer dress and one long dress. Plus an assortment of blouses, unbuttoned, and stretched jumpers worn underneath, and cotton nighties worn as dresses in the hot summer months. Oh, and a lovely swimsuit with a floating panel.
