I'm not a particular fan of Primark but for anyone who is, the world's biggest one has opened in Birmingham. It is huge and contains a beauty salon, a barber's shop and two cafes smile

I think it's better to buy fewer clothes and wear them for longer. Most of us have too much stuff. It's great to recycle and buy second hand also, but apparently some charity shops are getting such poor quality clothes donated they are not fit to sell on. Many shops such as M&S will accept clothing for recycling.

they aren't as cheap as they used to be , hopefully because they're paying their workers more.

I love their lounge wear and t shirts. I have a very flattering tshirt dress from there

Ha ha, not been to meadowhell for years, it was always a good power walk as I recall.

When my youngest son was off to a job interview I was trying to get him decent clothes to wear , harder than you think with his long hair , beard and disinterest in anything . The only garment that aroused a spark of life was a blazer in the previous incarnation of Primark (it was Pennies here for years) , he wore it for years and it still looked just about passable

Price per wear is fine if you’ve got £10. I buy a mix now from Seasalt, Monsoon and recently a top and cardigan from Primark as they had exactly the colour in cotton.

Lidl have baby grows in organic cotton for £6.99 for a pack of two. Main problem is that you need to buy them when you see them or they have gone, sometimes in hours.

Well I visited the new one in Birmingham this week. Boy is it big. Very tidy and quite stylish. I went in the week. My sister went on Saturday but it was so crowded she couldn't get in. She said there were crash barriers up. It's certainly very popular.

Last summer I bought 2 long-sleeved scoop-neck tshirts.
The pretty shade of blue tempted me to buy primark.
The pink was from next and was 3x the price.
Blue is still perfect, washed and dried beautifully. The pink never washed well, needed ironing but always looked crumpled.
Primark have so many different tshirt styles in such a range of colours that it has become my first port of call.
T-shirts, joggers and shorts are favourites of the DGC.

I don’t go in often but when I do it’s first thing in the morning when it’s much quieter.

I’m selective about what I buy. Currently the have some reasonable cotton dresses and tops in styles I like. I try stuff on as sizes are not reliable. They sell more eco-friendly tee shirts that cost more than the cheapies but last a long time.

Underwear; this generally doesn’t fit me well but I have bought sleeveless and sleeved vests, 95% cotton and 5% elastase. These are very good and not surprisingly I’ve seen the same/similar products in both M&S and H&M but more expensive, all made in Asia.

Some programmes have highlighted the fact that many of our brands of clothes are all made in the same place with different labels.

I don’t buy many new clothes and only cotton and wool if I can afford it, otherwise I make do.

Primary is okay, just be selective and shop early.

Bought a pair of ballet-pump style shoes there yesterday. I was even given a free paper carrier for them. Well done Primark on that score.

Popped into the new Birmingham store and bought a pair of 'Skechers' style slip-ons for £8. Bargain!
