I wouldn't be seen dead wearing XXXX .... and why?

.....a miniskirt, pair of shorts, thong, false nails...
Short items of clothing on my body would freak everyone out.
Thongs make me cringe with imagined discomfort and false nails are pointless on a muckworm like me who enjoys getting her hands grubby.

Anyone else?

No way do I see attractive in wearing what I refer to as' at half mast' are trousers that go above the ankle but can't make it to the calf.

Agree about thongs! Can’t get my legs out under any circumstances although I can wear a long skirt.

I would never wear a track suit, roll neck or turtle neck jumpers, a pleated tweed skirt or flannel slacks.

I have often secretly envied both burkhas and those blue trousers and tops that everyone once had to wear(not sure if it was in China or some such place). To just be able to get up and shower and dress in the same loose thing as everyone else was wearing sounds bliss to me. I recently invested in four really nice kaftans to wear in the promised heatwave summer. Sadly it has rained almost every day since. There are no bits of me that I want to draw attention to. None of it is excessively ugly or beautiful. A smile and an interest in other people are enough to be remembered by. The whole dressing decisions business is really tedious. I'm not the most observant person in the world so I must admit that I can't remember if a smile is actually visible in a burkha.

I am definitely in the no thongs brigade and l will not wear short skirts or shorts either. Believe me l am saving the world from myself. I have to dress reasonably smartly for work and most of the year wear smart trousers, top and long open cardigan with a necklace. I enjoy wearing skirts and dresses too. Interestingly, because my bottom half is two sizes bigger than my top half elasticated trousers are the only ones that really fit without the waist being far too big. Jean's are out for the same reason. Really, l try to dress to flatter my smaller top half and hide my horrible bottom half.

Caterpillar eyelashes, slug like nails and the nails especially with half a ton of glitter and jewels on them. (As to the face cream issue, its the very flat tips of the fingers as with everything else needing normal finger movement. For the toilet issue, do these people go to the toilet.) 5 inch heels so fashionable now, short shorts, bikini, and Pat Butcher earrings.

I have knees that swell sometimes with scars from knee replacements, and I would never wear a short skirt but last summer I decide to wear my scars with pride and once I got my legs brown I wore shorts just above the knee. First time in 10 years and nobody batted an eyelid! Be brave, give it s go.

Blinko Fri 09-Aug-19 17:06:35

False eyelashes, ripped jeans, tattoos, stilettos, frills - all noooo!

GrauntyHelen Fri 09-Aug-19 17:20:41

A Frown, life's too short.

debgaga Fri 09-Aug-19 19:28:09

I don’t like to wear my birthday suit in polite company as it really could do with an iron

Saggi Fri 09-Aug-19 19:31:52

PamelaJ1 Fri 09-Aug-19 20:17:56

Anything with logo’s on it.
I’m not paying any company to act as its advertising board.

Bellasnana Fri 09-Aug-19 20:25:56

Hats. I look a b****r in them.

Jaxie Fri 09-Aug-19 20:29:11

Anything that shows a wrinkled cleavage, bare shoulder tops, animal prints and frills ( nobody loves a fairy when she's forty).

grannybuy Fri 09-Aug-19 20:50:02

Long hair ( unless it was luxuriously thick - which mine isn't )
Polo necks
Leggings ( unless for an excercise activity )
Thongs
Any top that shows my bra
Anything with epaulettes
Tunics - being only five feet, I like shorter tops, and alter many to fit
All black ensembles
Stilletoes
Sandals in the winter

Aepgirl Fri 09-Aug-19 21:13:24

Sleeveless dresses / tops. How I dislike over 50’ s showing their wobbly arms.

Miep1 Fri 09-Aug-19 21:19:05

I'm with joannapianna on this, especially the ones with a sewn-in crease down the front. I'm sticking to my jeans till the day I die, probably literally!

I don't know about the UK, but here in the US most of the teenage girls are very casual. Their favorite "uniform of choice seems to be large, oversized t-shirts with short running/athletic shorts underneath.

They look like they are walking around in their Dad's old t-shirt and no bottoms on at all.

It's atrocious, sloppy and they all do it!

joannapiano Fri 09-Aug-19 21:39:38

Aepgirl, sorry, but you had better get ready to vomit into the nearest waste bin when I come past in my vest top, bingo-wings flapping.

birchermuesli Fri 09-Aug-19 21:47:23

heels (can't walk in them, also they make calves look weird), polo necks (unflattering), wrap dresses (unflattering).

Purpledaffodil Fri 09-Aug-19 22:01:29

GoodMama your teenage girl fashions sound ... interesting ?Haven’t noticed it in SE England yet, but we do tend to follow the US, so doubtless it will happen here.

Rowantree: try nail oil every other night and cuticle cream every other night. I had horrible problems with my nails until I started doing this on the recommendation of a beautician and now my nails are much stronger and grow really fast.

Phoebes Fri 09-Aug-19 22:58:03

I love a good flaunt, Alexa!
