Delightful Dungaree rediscovery

Never worn them as I'm tall 5'9" with a long body and always thought they'd cut into me at the crotch!
Perhaps I should try on a pair and see if they'd fit.

Another vote for dungarees, I bought a lovely linen pair in Spain last year whilst on holiday. I get lots of compliments when I wear them but they are only suitable for summer due to material and colour, they are oatmeal colour.

I want some dungarees but I'm only 5ft 2in and size 12, so has anyone else this size found ones that fit and if so where from.

I had a pair as a teenager (late seventies, early eighties) and my very traditional grandmother called it a boiler suit. She was the same lady who at a later date thought she was being so helpful when she sewed up all the tears in my cousin's distressed jeans. I couldn't wear dungarees now as lipoedema has completely distended my already ample bottom and I couldn't inflict the sight of that in dungarees on the innocent public!

The only time I wore them was when I was pregnant! I don't think it's a look I'll go for

Well I have just bought 2 mini skirts and wear them with cable tights. When asked for approval my DD said that I have good legs so should show them off!

I bought a couple of boiler/jump suits recently which I am pleased with. This is the better one. It’s smart enough for lunch out and very comfortable. (From Monsoon)

I wore them in the late 70s as a student & then when pregnant in the early 80s. Personally, I find them unattractive on older people, they look rather silly IMO but that's just me - if you think you look good in them, just wear them, it's none of my business!

In my opinion never too old. My daughter treated me to jumpsuit for my 60th ... wearing it makes me feel 18 again ?

You’ve MADE me look but £150! Don’t think so. However, it did lead me to look on eBay which culminated in me buying a Toast Denim dress with the straps as on dungarees! I hope it fits and I don’t look ludicrous! Please don’t talk about nice clothes, I have to buy them!

I am perfectly sure that even at the age of 68 I would feel like an expectant mother in dungarees. They were the in maternity wear in the 1970s.

I wore them all the time in the 70s and 80s and still enjoy wearing them. Lucy&Yak do some great styles

I love dungies, but my belly is too fat now and I just know I would look like a tellytubby.

I’m a big fan of dungarees. I’m currently wearing the 2020 gap denim ones with a neon top.

Someone said they are sexless above. It does depend abit what you wear underneath. A floaty blouse which gives a contrast is good. in addition to my two "good" pairs I also have some khaki ones that my mother bought years ago to wear to clean in. I wear them to decorate and they are quite paint splattered. For some odd reason they have a devastating effect on DH - something to do with latent memories of Felicity Kendal in The Good Life!
