Eyebrows

Oh my goodness. Some of the eyebrows you see today. I’m mesmerised by them and can’t take my eyes off them if I’m speaking to someone. They look so awful and, as you say , two slugs crawling across their face. My Gd’s friend had hers tattooed and she looks permanently angry ?.

Just use a soft pencil and brush to make them look natural.

I use Rimmel brow tattoo. You paint it on, wait about an hour and then wash it off, and it leaves a stain. I'm quite happy with it. But be aware it looks really scary before you wash it off.
I've also got an eyebrow pen from Avon which needs a very light hand. The wand has got several little points to mimic individual hairs.
Ive started using eyelash serum this week. It's very expensive!

Er, what are eyebrows?

I do pay attention to my eyebrows these days, God knows what happened to my lashes, so lush and long in my youth, the sparse few hairs that replaced those are hardly worth bothering with these days. In fact I don't! So yes all emphasis is on my brows and I probably buy more products for them than any other part of my face. A steady hand is required, I do tell my husband "don't talk to me when I'm putting my brows on, otherwise I'll end up with slugs " He says something similar to me when he's shaving but what's a nick on the neck compared to a bad brow day !

My lovely Mum taught me to 'train' my eyebrows by regularly wiping a damp finger firmly across them from centre to edge. Kind of worked as I consider them tolerable without attention. Once had a formal plucking session. Agony and never to be repeated. Wouldn't even know how to attempt it myself and don't have the patience. Find many of the current eye fashions positively weird but, each to their own indeed.

I never plucked my brows but apart from a couple of sparse white hairs they have all but disappeared. Eyelashes not much in evidence either.
If I try to draw in a small and muted brow it never looks right.

I use Billion Dollar Brows pencil in a universal shade.

Snap Silverlinings mines the same.My eyebrows were always fair in comparison to my head hair but following treatment for breast cancer I am left with maybe 7 growing at all angles.I have also now developed brown spotting on one so try and protect the area with high factor cream.Have seen some terrible dark micro bladed slug eyebrows and do wonder how out of place they will look when aged 60+ and greying.

I use a powder on mine as I need to darken them as well as fill them out a bit. I find the powder gives a softer look whilst still giving definition. Mine is by Number 7 but always looking for something better!

My eyebrows have become pretty bald now. I am on anti-cancer drugs which cause hair loss as well as gout medication, which does the same. A double whammy.I draw then in every day with a pencil I bought from my hairdresser. I have seriously consider tattoos after seeing a relative in Australia who had hers done in her 80s. Once upon a time my eyebrows were so thick they were practically a mono brow

I know what you mean! If I didn’t pluck my chin daily, I’d have a knee length beard by now!

Drives me mad - oestrogen has a lot to answer for in my view, why leave when I really need you !!

Mine went worrying about my daughter leaving for university. I have tried lots of brow pencils but they tend to be too dark. ( I don’t like the Scouse brow look that’s famous here).
The pencil I use is Rimmel Brow Pomade Medium. It’s not always available in the shops so I buy two at a time from Amazon. It goes on well gives you time to correct the shape then stays on.

The pendulum always has to go from one extreme to the other doesn’t it! Usually just after a trend has been around long enough for everyone to adopt it…

I've not had any eyebrows to speak of since I was a child.
Someone noticed once, and pencilled some on for me, which my family found hilarious.
They said I looked like a surprised egg.

I used Gimme Brow by Benefit to help my miserable brows after plucking in my mis-spent youth and beyond, but found it wore off during the day and didn’t really like the texture. They’re now a bit more respectable but I found getting a grey eyebrow colour after letting my hair go grey was difficult then discovered the Suqqu eyebrow pen online which colours the now white brows nicely but subtly. Would also be suitable for drawing hairs in bald spots. Various colours available.

I find eyebrows fascinating so many different ones, some scary like the scouse brow for one, also the slug shape ones, and the other ones that make me smile are the ones that have just a thin line drawn on, it is difficult though when you lose brow hair through illness, it’s hard to get it right sometimes, misadventure you have made me giggle, my own have lost the ends so I have to compromise and use brow powder due to hypothyroidism, sometimes you just have to make the most of what you have!

A friend has wild, grey eyebrows. I wonder why one of her daughters hasn't suggested trimming them.

Unfortunately as I get more grey hairs, mine are going that way too! I brush them up towards my forehead and them carefully trim them.

I’ve just been out and bought the Benefit eyebrow pencil, the one with a point for the sides and a flat bit for filling in and I am pleased with the results. Thanks for the advice. ?
