Fab looking shoes

I was behind someone in a queue today and noticed her fab shoes. I asked where she got them and she said via Am***n and they are called Uin. I just can’t decide which pair to buy. They are pricey though.

Have any of you had this make ?

Tustpilot is a great resource for checking out all different types of companies before purchases or using companies' services.

as uin footwear are a chinese company, the items will take longer to get here and the sizes might be smaller than you think. i am having a battle with a company who do not allow reviews on there website, i purchased what i thought was a carpet/rug/mattress cleaner, the pics and demo on the website looked great, it was also half price, turned out it was a car cleaner that needed to be plugged into the ciggie lighter, i do not have a car, i am not allowed to drive due to epilepsy. i am usually very savvy about looking up a company but sadly not this time.

Ooh, crikey, no - not for me!!

NanKate Sun 15-Aug-21 17:01:23

I love bright colours and have got to an age when I wear just what I like. They had a nice light grey pair.

Thanks for the warnings. ?

These shoes look fab but as the reviews say it is very difficult, if not impossible, to return them if they don't fit. I have had this experience with a Chinese company so wouldn't risk it again.

MerylStreep Sun 15-Aug-21 19:15:44

Like all these snide Chinese companies: what you see isn’t always what you get.
And once again ( I’ve posted this so many times)
Dont trust TrustPilot

Talking of trust pilot
And this was an absolutely genuine positive review!!

Is it easy to return if bought from Amazon?
Surely then they don't go to China?

Yes, that is what I was thinking. I've never had any problem returning anything bought via Amazon. Some of the styles it looks as if you have to wait a couple of weeks for (so stock obviously held in China), but a few are next day delivery.

OnwardandUpward Sun 15-Aug-21 23:06:54

No I haven't.

I wouldn't trust the sizing as Chinese people have very small feet and this brand does not cater for larger feet! I think the style of shoes is very limited and not that nice. The prints are ok, but not very original. It's well known that sometimes Chinese companies can use stolen art and designs. I think $72 is a lot for canvas shoes. I don't shop on Amazon if I can help it and especially avoid things made in China wherever possible. I buy British well known brands that I trust because my feet love quality shoes.

Clarks shoes are made in Asia as well OnwardandUpward, in fact nearly all shoes seem to be these days. I believe Hotter still manufacture in the UK though.

I’m having my doubts about buying them, so thanks for the feedback.

I bought a colourful cheap pair from the Floriday site that advertises on GN, another Chinese company. They took a few weeks to arrive but the sizing was spot on and I like them. I am fond of bright colours too.

NotSpaghetti Mon 16-Aug-21 10:33:39

Brands that make in the UK.

I wish I could buy cheap shoes - I take a size 4 AA, and it is so difficult finding them. The 2 online suppliers I have used have become so old-fashioned and frumpy. I can’t remember the last time I bought a pair of shoes.

No, no, no!! The companies pay Trustpilot to protect their reviews. I’ve had an awful experience with a Chinese firm and misrepresentation of clothing they sold me and when I sent a threat of action unless I got a full refund Trustpilot hounded me for proof of purchase and wouldn’t stop even though I’d proven my purchase. Watchdog did a review on Trustpilot and how firms paid them.

Marydoll Mon 16-Aug-21 19:12:53

I too red similar about Trustpilot.

The shoes are quirky, NanKate, but buying from China can be a hit and a miss affair. I have just received a top from China, which was not as advertised. Not even fit for the charity shop!

Oh dear me. I didn’t think there was anyone who believed that site.
I assume you trust Checkatrade as well ?

PaperMonster Mon 16-Aug-21 22:10:37

Those are amazing shoes - but I think I’ll buy my crazy shoes from my local indy!

OnwardandUpward Mon 16-Aug-21 23:40:18

Everything is made in China, almost. Well we went in Pavers today and absolutely nothing fitted me or my husband. I don't remember finding shoes to fit properly being so difficult before. My husband was quite perplexed and worried his feet had become fat, but I think it's small sizing.

I've heard that Check a Trade is people who pay to be featured rather than people who are great?

I bought a leather handbag on line. When I researched my purchase I realised it was coming from China. It arrived and no way had that handbag ever been part of a cow! It was awful. It was a special price - I wonder why - so I couldn’t be bothered to work out how to return it. Within weeks it had started to fall apart. I now have a lovel Osprey, real leather handbag with a beautiful floral lining.

I also found that baby shoes described as "leather" were not. You know they type of baby shoes they use for cruising, like bootees, the soft leather ones? Well I ordered those, believing they were leather and they were plastic so went in the bin. I'd never put plastic on a little ones feet. In the end I used a British company and got beautiful leather ones.

Your handbag sounds lovely, Ladyleftfieldlover
