How can I, at the age of 72, covet grandaughter's DMs?
Do you, would you, have you worn them?
Do i wish i were 8 again?

I bought my daughter a pair when she was 14 or 15 years old. She’s now 44 and still has them. I doubt she’ll get rid of them.

I wear them (59 if you are asking).

I've just given my daughter the money to buy some for her birthday, hopefully they'll last her!

I love them! I don’t have a pair currently because I wore my last ones till they fell apart, but I need to replace them.

I still wear my purple Doc Martens. So comfortable.

I bought my first ever pair of DM shoes this Christmas. I'm 66. They are So comfy! I love wearing them, especially with a frock.

A friend told me that the ones that are made in England (you can specify on the DM site) tend to be wider an of better quality leather. The downside ism they don't do the really fancy ones in the Made in England range. And they don't ever seem to go into the Sale!

Ex President of our WI is currently sporting a green pair. Not for even though I can't wear nice shoes DMs are a boot too far forme. DD2 loves them.

Love mine! I’ve got the soft black leather original design and they last for years!! One word of caution - the fancy ones aren’t as supple and can take a wee bit of breaking in to loosen up the ankle. My daughter had red marks akin to handcuff or restraint marks for a week or so with her last pair!!

Peasblossom

When my children were young we lived near the Doc Martens factory. We all wore almost nothing else.

I visited the factory. The workers were so skilled. They paced the eyelets by eye, no measuring, in seconds.

Sadly they closed it down and moved to places where labour is cheaper.

We live a couple of miles away from the Griggs factories.
My daughter used to wear the original Dr.Martens for school. They were all the rage then and in the early 70's with the "bovver boys", skinhead's.
She then worked for the company for a few years until the work went to China and finally closed down.

I loved mine, but sadly too heavy for me to walk in now. I need lighter, more flexible footwear so the weakened muscles on the affected side can operate easily.

Both my GDs wear DMs and I have had a pair of boots for about 30 years.

I bought a pair just over a year ago. Wore them to work while volunteering to do lateral flow testing for pupils. That day thurs 21st Jan 2021 I tested positive for Covid ? It took me nearly a year to put them back on my feet again. But I love them have always wanted them so Covid was not going to stop me loving them . ?

Oooooooo they're gorgeous DMs.

DDiL wears hem snd DGD's 'big' present at Christmas was a pair. I like them but cannot be bothered to wear any shoewear with laces.

Did anyone see Greg Wallace going round the Doc Martens factory in Northampton last week in 'Inside the factory'?
