Have used many face creams over the years. Now want to try something new or maybe go back to an old one. One that moisturises but lifts and firms, reduces wrinkles. If there is such a thing!
What do people recommend?
Another vote for Boots No7 new products Future Renew. Very impressed
I have just seen on TV the Boots No 7 Future Review has been launched with much fanfare. People have been queuing to get it and they are struggling to fill preorders. They gave it excellent reviews and apparently backed by a lot of science.
This maybe another one I have to try!!
I just use cheap Aldi dupes ( Charlotte Tilbury dupes at the moment) or Primark dupes. I have lovely skin. Having said that I have never smoked, I have never liked the sun and have always stayed out of it since I was a child, I eat a healthy diet ( veggie) I wear sunblock every day of the year, I drink lots of water, I also keep every fit which my Zumba instructor tells me has a huge positive impact on skin.
It’s brilliant. I used to spend a fortune on creams before this. I do love Elemis Pro Marine cream though
I think pillows give us wrinkles. I sleep on my left and have lines right in the middle of my cheek and most people do. The other cheek is smooth.
The most wonderful skin I ever saw on a mature woman was my friend who worked in a laundry all her working life.
It always reminded me of porcelain.
I like La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Hyaluronic Acid Rich Moisturiser, it's not one of the most expensive and not cloggy on the skin. There are two versions but even this "rich" one isn't too heavy, though the SF version is too much for me.
I have fair skin and have never found a sun protection that works for me, they all seem to make me sweat and the cream simply comes off.
Facial yoga (link below) and prescription tretnoin from an online skin therapy registered company work.
I also with the tretnoin use have to use gentle facial products and daily suncream. (Link below)
I use the CeraVe range by Boots for this. Cleanser, and creams. They are very reasonable.

Don't forget to moisturise from within, girls, as it's easiest to forget that we need healthy plant oil especially if on a calorie counted diet. Olive oil in the diet definitely helps a lot with my skin. I do also use coconut oil sometimes as well both in cooking and on the skin. I also avoid too much alcohol which create a ruddy complexion through little capillary veins, and I have never smoked which I think uas reduced risk of puckered up wrinkles around the mouth .
Since chemo my skin has been extremelu dry, I've tried all the different creams available, except the very expensive ones. I have finally settled on Avino body moisturiser for very dry skin. It has worked better than anything else for face and body.
I use Nivea 60plus love it after trying most brands . I have a very sensitive skin and allergy to seaweed so avoid all products with seaweed . Growing old disgraceful lol

I had a look at dermatica but they wanted credit card information right at the start.
I’m wary of being signed up for something that is very difficult to cancel.
I've used Clarins, Clinique, Aveda etc over the years. I now use Nivea Soft which doesn't moisturises well and leave my face looking greasy. I have dry skin and found that a lot of the more expensive ones didn't moisturise enough. Also I don't like the heavy perfume smell of some of them have... expensive and cheap.
I have pretty good skin ... not too wrinkled and I don't use soap either . I eat a healthy diet and I think that helps. Good luck . It is sometimes nice to pay a bit extra for the feel good factor.

'Does moisturise well'!
Yes CeraVe for cleansing is really good... perfume free and for sensitive skin....and I don't drink or smoke . I think also drinking lots of water.... which I usually forget to do!
I use either Aldi or Lidl face serum. Not the cream, the serum. They’re great!
L'oreal Age Perfect - a bit pricy these day but I buy it when on offer (Superdrug and Boots have regular offers}
I like the pink Clarins booster serum plus night moisturiser. I use a good vitamin face mask weekly, alongside my daily routine, they take about 5 mins. Also I’ve tried Ponds products in past but not really felt their product helps with wrinkles, just makes the skin soft, which is nice but not really what I want. I never go in for sunbathing. Always wear a hat and avoid too much alcohol and smoking . I’m early 60 s but people think I’m at least a decade younger. [ My mother looked very old at 60/70/80 years old so it’s not just a Gene thing in my opinion.] I like also trying the deep oils too on the skin and try lot’s different products from time to time. Not sure if above of interest maybe help others to hear what I do.
This isn't quite the point of the thread, but I'd be glad of your information. I won some skin products called La Mer in a raffle recently. I haven't started using them and I'm told they are super-expensive!
Does anyone know anything about La Mer?
PS I normally use L'Oréal
i think people waste a lot of money on most of these things, paying for big brands' advertising.
aldi have a few with suggested age ranges. try them.
the main thing as others have said is avoid sun damage, wear hat with brim, walk on the shady side, use spf everyday, 15 in winter, 30+ in summer.
I use M& S body cream with Cocoa Butter. When we were on a trip 40 yrs ago to the West Indies I noticed that Cocoa butter was used a lot. I even use it on my face avoiding my eyes of course. It gives a lovely sheen. I have dry skin and always use it after washing my face.
Those products are well posh Romola.
I bought a body oil once. Real silky. No grease.
Try old vaseline.
A good thick layer across your beauty mirror BEFORE you peer into it and, hey presto!, you look as lovely as you feel inside.
For extra effect, smear a little on your 'dear other's' spectacles each morning.
Factor 50 sunscreen on face every day and Dior super potent serum
I've tried Aldi creams before but had really bad reaction ,have used no 7 or any Boots own brand fro years ....I'm 70 my skins not bad at all .. I'm careful in other ways too especially in the sun always use 50+ facial sun cream, drink plenty of water and don't smoke at all or drink (very little). Think good genes help too .
