Esmay
I'm in my early seventies and I receive a lot of compliments about my skin and not my awful lumpy bumpy figure ( which I battle with ) .
A lady at church called me a liar when I told her my age .
There is no magical formula .
I don't smoke , I drink a lot of fluids and put sun block on before I go outside .
In my youth , I had dark red hair and still am freckled .
I really burn in the sun .
At the moment , I'm using some cream which costs a pound for a big pot in Savers .
Otherwise , Nivea is fine .
I don't use soap -it's too drying .
I take my make up off with baby lotion or micellar water .
Very occasionally , I exfoliate with Liz Earle as it's so gentle .
In the past , I've tried expensive face creams and they are a complete waste of money .
Having written that ,
I've seen our late Queen up close about five times - her skin was amazing - so her choice of face creams worked for her .
This made me laugh - I also receive compliments on my skin, and I say it's all down to genes, but to have my skin, you have to have my bum as well (which like yours, gets NO compliments!)
I had a friend with a willowy figure, her mum used to call her a 'clothes horse' because anything she put on looked good and she could wear it with panache. Dreadful skin, burst out in acne at the drop of a hat. When I first got to know her, she was not very sympathetic to my tendency to put on weight; but after we shared a flat, she saw that I ate (and drank) a lot less than her; and I pointed out that I did nothing special to maintain my lovely skin, just as she did nothing special to keep her figure (which she did until her death at 68)
I like to support ethical and small businesses, so at the moment I am loving www.oliveandjoyce.co.uk/
