If I want to treat myself which I do every now and again. I will always buy a scarf. Never cost more than around £15, although I’ve got cashmere ones and silk ones bought for me as presents.

I do love scarves but you will find me over on the perfume thread if we are talking guilty pleasures!

We all should be able to have a little treat now and then.

🎁

(Would be nice if everyone could afford treats wouldn't it).

I love to see people wearing scarves - a couple of my friends wear them with huge panache. I can't cope at all.

Primrose53 Fri 21-Jul-23 09:36:07

I love them and have dozens but seldom remember to wear them! 😝

ginny Fri 21-Jul-23 09:39:25

Apart from one to keep my neck warm outside in the winter I don’t wear them. I’v never been able to wear them with panache.
My treats are usually something to do with my hobbies. I don’t feel guilty about them though.

Also my guilty pleasure, most of which I've found in charity shops, including a couple from Hermes. No idea how many I have. Let's just say "lots". Fortunately they don't take up much storage space. Always room for one more!

HeavenLeigh Fri 21-Jul-23 09:46:57

Micmc47 I darent count mine 🤣 I’ve got them on four scarf holders and full lol

Georgesgran Fri 21-Jul-23 09:48:12

I daren’t count how many I have! All the colours of the rainbow and then some. As soon as the cooler weather kicks in, I wear them every day. Being a size 16, I’ll wear a top to toe dark colour, then with a brightly coloured scarf ( pashminas, fine but big) at my neck, I hope it draws attention upwards.

This hits nail on head. You can get designer scarves in charity shops - loads of choice - for £2.50. Low cost guilty pleasures. I'm not a scarf person as they always seem to flap and impede as I move about -

-except of course on Zoom, where you can dress up a T shirt and still look good!

Love scarfs and have lots. I always find that they are never the right shade to team up with outfit though.

Probably best to wear plain tops and jazz up with a cheerful and bright scarf.

HeavenLeigh How I love a nice scarf I have many bought in Charity shops when browsing I was lucky enough to find one by Liberty which I could never have afforded to buy and it is my favourite buy of all time,it cost me £1.99 at the time I didn't realise it was a Liberty until I got it home.

My secret pleasure too! I’ve got a whole set of drawers full of scarves ones I’ve bought and ones that are gifts. Love them. Handbags are my next guilty pleasure cost more though!

Redhead56 Fri 21-Jul-23 09:55:24

I like scarves long ones I have just knitted two ready for winter and thinking about another one!

Bella23 Fri 21-Jul-23 09:57:37

I love scarves as well always have.It started with my school scarf and when a student there was a faze of swooping scarves with your boyfriend as mine was at uni in a different city I loved his.
I get scarves bought and do what GG does wear a dark colour usually navy or French navy then go to town with the scarves.
I think to get good ones from Charity shops you have to live near a big city any I see look as though they have been worried by a sheep,or been bedding for some animal.

I use scarves to try and disguise my large frontage ! I know I fail in that plan , as a scarf seems to “ walk “ round my neck , one end trailing , the other near my ear !
I love the way they cheer up / tone down whatever top I have on
I have loads of warm ones , floaty ones and plain old useful ones

henetha Fri 21-Jul-23 10:04:28

I'm a scarf lover too and have lots of different kinds. In winter to keep me warm of course, but the rest of the year (not really high summer though) I like having a pretty scarf to fling about and show off.

Casdon Fri 21-Jul-23 10:06:12

Another scarf lover here, I try to keep them under control but I’ve probably got about 30 that I wear regularly. Oh dear.

Kate1949 Fri 21-Jul-23 10:11:36

I've got one. It's from Primark. Like kitty I can't get the hang of them.

Greyduster Fri 21-Jul-23 10:12:28

I’ve never been big on scarves - I only remember buying two for myself, but DD has bought me some lovely ones over the years; silk, some of them, and they are coming into their own now though I can’t carry them off like she can.

Chocolatelovinggran Fri 21-Jul-23 10:28:14

Me too!

Blossoming Fri 21-Jul-23 10:31:04

I have lots, I daren’t count them grin Many have been presents.

nanna8 Fri 21-Jul-23 10:34:33

Culling time for me, I have far too many. Lucky op shops.

Millie22 Fri 21-Jul-23 10:43:09

Love scarves 💕

I've got a favourite one that I knitted and a few fabric ones from Accessorize.

Marydoll Fri 21-Jul-23 10:46:25

I thought NanKate had started this thread. I believe she has an inordinate number of scarves,. as have I. 😉

allsortsofbags Fri 21-Jul-23 11:16:46

Another scarf lover here, I do have a lot of scarves.

I'm not even going to count them, as long as I have room I shall keep them tidy I'm happy.

I do wear them most days as I need to keep my neck warm.

When I travelled a lot I always had a minimum of a couple of silk scarves 1 square 1 long to change up outfits. Plus big cashmere stole and a cotton stole with me for the aircraft/hotel as they allowed me to keep warm or cool depending on where I was.

Plus the cotton one was big enough to use as a beach wrap or over nightwear as a sort of dressing gown if needed.

I've written on here a couple of times that if I hadn't had this as my user name I could have had Too Many Scarves :-)

Enjoy your scarves :-)
