I wish we still had M&S here; I remember my mum stocking up on staples (underwear and tights!) for us back in the 60's.
Unfortunately over the years they grew with that same demographic, and did not do much to keep up with the latest trends, or cater to a younger generation. In 2020 they had their first loss of profit in over 90 years, so they need to do some drastic re-structuring.
They opened up to selling third party brands, and got rid of some of their in-house brands. They have re-vamped their looks to gain a market share of a younger demographic while still delivering what the older generation expects.
Their sales have increased 50% over the last three years, telling that their new strategy is working. here's an article.

Even if you don't like the look of the clothes or model in the ad, I think most of you could still find clothing that would appeal to you, at a decent price. We can order on-line here, but shipping costs are too much, and there are return fees, so I haven't ordered, although I do look at their site from time to time, and I see quite a few items that are on trend but wearable for me in my 60's.
