Unexpected sartorial problem

I recently treated myself to a new everyday winter jacket. I saw it online and liked it but went into town to the shop to buy it. It's lovely. Very smart. The only snag is that it's so noisy! It rustles and creaks as I walk along. (Its definitely the jacket btw!)
Nothing to do about it. I'll just have to get used to it.

Aveline

Actually I do look exactly like that girl but with trousers the proper length of course.

Ummm! . . .

At the price I'd take it back for a refund.

The Dog's giving me a funny side-eyed look of contempt because I'm tittering & snorting in a very unlady-like fashion at some of your wonderful comments. Thank you for cheering me up on this grey miserable afternoon.

Looks like you’re busted Aveline 😁 as it appears that Elegran has met you.

The dogs would certainly be giving me side eye if I swished past them. Better not have a GN meet up. The racket from rustly jacket, farty shoes and grinding corduroy would get us all done for breach of the peace!

Aveline I have a rustling coat.

Sorry to say it still rustles after several years.

I think with practice we could play “Twinkle, twinkle….”

Is it caused by static? If so maybe putting it in a tumble dryer on a cold setting with a fabric conditioner sheet might sort it.

I used to have some shoes that did the same thing, got rid of them when I saw someone turn their head to look, they made a squelching farty sound😁

PMSL 😂

I have some silicon ballet flats that look lovely but they make farty noises too. They are fine until my feet get warm. I wear them around the house sometimes, they are too beautiful to throw out.

I used to wear a leather skirt suit to work. Went to a meeting with leather chairs and as I plonked myself down it make a huge farty noise in the quiet room as leather met leather. I was the only female and I could see the men trying not to laugh and make a big deal out of it, but I wanted to laugh too and had to hold it in...

Easier to hold in a laugh or a fart? Answers on a postcard please!

Sorry for digressing but all this farty talk took me back. For reasons unknown, at one time I'd let rip out of the blue at every step I walked. One day it happened and my boss walked by blowing loud raspberries. I couldn't understand why as I thought my farts were of the silent type. It wasn't until I started to wear hearing aids that I realised my farts were loud enough to be heard the other end of the room. Mortified didn't even begin to describe my embarrassment. Sorry if I've lowered the tone.

Oh my word, this has got me chortling away to myself! grin.
I also have a pair of farty flip flops, and one squeaky trainer.
