How can you be 92 and look so stunning? envy
Joan Collins at Cannes Film Festival.

jakuss Thu 14-May-26 13:56:18

Exactly, lot of naive people on here

foxie48 Thu 14-May-26 14:07:41

I haven't seen any naive posts Jakuss I have just read a rude one though!

I think that Joan looks fabulous at 92. She has obviously always looked after herself in addition to having good genes. I do think she would look better with less blusher and more hair around her face, but I applaud her chutzpah and energy ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿฅ‚

I remember reading that she always wears a sun hat and factor 50 to protect her skin . Since my 30s I've followed her advice . She's always been glamorous and why stop now because she's 92. She dresses well and yes money buys help to maintain your looks and well cut clothes . I hope I can age as well.

I think Jane Fonda looks scary in those pictures.
Not that i care one way or the other.

I had no idea who l was looking at until l saw caption. I barely recognised her to be honest and thought she looked awful.

What sort of hairstyle is that. Or is it some kind of hair piece wig.

For those of who you thinks she does look younger. Maybe having a husband who.is 32 years younger than her helps?

Barbadosbelle Thu 14-May-26 15:01:25

.

Sarcastic, wrong - and smacking of the green-eyed monster.

It has long been established that she's never had any cosmetic surgery.

On a one-to-one with Michael Parkinson she started bare-faced and applied her makeup as they spoke. She invited him to examine her hairline and behind her ears to look for stitch scars.
He did. There weren't any. (Available on YouTube).

There's simple reasons why she looks so good and the main thing is to ALWAYS keep your face out of the sun and to wear big hats even under beach and pool umbrellas.

She also always wears full make-up whenever she is outdoors.

I have followed the same regime since a late teenager and it is the only thing that really works. Most people presume (visually, if not athletically!) that I'm at least 20-years younger than I am. I NEVER tell them differently! My skin a fabulous with no lines or bags.

Joan swears by:

# Nivea 2-in-1 Face Cleanser and Tonic;
# Charlotte Tilbury Night Cream
(she says it avoids needing Botox);
and
# Vaseline as a barrier.

None particularly expensive.

For my part it has always been Olay (then Ulay) - first the Milk, now Regenerist.
Always full makeup.
Always a wide brimmed hat (throughout the year)

And a good hairdresser and hair colouring helps (Joan always wears wigs outdoors).

All thanks to my Nana who told me when I was 18 that - 'the time to start looking after your face is when you're young not when you get old' (she always used Ponds Vanishing Cream).

Joan is Joan. What you see is what you get.

She's certainly done what she was hoping to, hasn't she?
Completely stolen the show. smile

Allira Thu 14-May-26 15:07:27

What sort of hairstyle is that.

I should think it's representing the part she just played in a recent film, rather of the Duchess of Windsor in her later years after the Duke's death and promoting the film.

Duchess of Windsor was 89 when she died.

Allira Thu 14-May-26 15:08:18

that not rather

This device does not like the word that!

I think she looks fabulous whether she had cosmetic surgery or not! I hope I look as good as her when Iโ€™m 90. My feelings whatever you feel to help you look this good then do it!!!

Will we still be starring in films Susieq12? ๐Ÿ˜

Barbadosbelle Thu 14-May-26 15:10:31

Watch the video of her make-upless with Michael Parkinson on YouTube and see him search her hairline and behind her ears for any tell-tale scarring. There wasn't any!

MissAdventure Thu 14-May-26 15:13:52

I don't care if she's had a lift or not
.
Good on her, i say.

Oh dear. How sad. It.musr.be so frightening to have failing sight.

Peaseblossom Thu 14-May-26 15:27:04

M0nica I think Mary Berry looks extremely old. Every one of her years, and her hair is awful. Like a helmet. Joan looks far better.

MissAdventure Thu 14-May-26 15:27:33

Has she, Allira?
I know she did workout videos.

That's scary enough in itself!

Essexgirl145 Thu 14-May-26 15:27:34

She has Percy ladies, every woman needs a Percy.

Hanoi Jane!

MissAdventure Thu 14-May-26 15:33:51

Hanoi?
What's that when its at home?

Allira Thu 14-May-26 15:36:13

Shouldn't we be celebrating all these older women who are still working, still striving to look their best, still showing there is life in the old gals yet instead of criticising, moaning and turning into GOWs?

MissAdventure Thu 14-May-26 15:40:33

Yes, i think so..
Women are always the worst critics.

4allweknow Thu 14-May-26 15:42:20

So artificial looking to me. Notice the aged skin and colouring on her ankles and feet. Is botox not recommended for those areas?
If Joan and anyone like her is happy with their look, let them carry on.
