I'm going to Provence tomorrow. Can't wait to warm up - it's freezing here at DD's in West London.
Kitty I was staying at the Brudenell when I had an 'accident' with a lifeboat in 1959. I broke my skull - Indelibly printed on my brain wink

Imprinted !

The pig in the new forest in hampshire.
Gorgeous food and a comfy bed. Could seriously do with a rest there

bikergran Fri 29-May-15 16:03:11

Oh heck! Marmight will cross Brudenell off list ! shock

Give my love to Provence, Marmight, I'm not going to be there this year because DS2 and family have sold the caravan and are going camping in Corsica. Much as I love the island, I draw the line at being under canvas - especially as I've experienced the majestic thunderstorms they have there quite frequently.

I would go to the Three Ways House Hotel in the Cotswolds, for the walking and also the Pudding Club. I have never been, but it has been on my wish list for some time.

Fly to Nice 20 degrees now. I'm shivering wrapped in a pashmina next to a radiator.

I wish you'd said Marmight. We've just booked this year's stay! Though, to be fair, I've never broken my skull while we've been there! confused

I'd fly off to Gibraltar and visit with my son, partner and littlest grandson for the weekend.. its nice and warm there 25* as opposed to 14*here , I'm freezing in West London.grin

no contest...I would pack a bag and go down to South Devon, to the Frogwell B&B in Strete - only 3 letting rooms all of which are fabulous, the owners are lovely (you get home made cake on arrival, whatever time it is!) and the breakfasts are to die for. There are not one but two local pubs within a minutes stroll (one to try each evening - and neither would disappoint - I know I've done both!!) There are cliff walks, lovely beaches and the pretty Slapton Ley all on the doorstep. Just the perfect place for a stress free weekend break - no airports, no queuing, just fresh air and lots of lovely blue sea...

The Christina, left bank, Paris. I will never tire of visiting Paris and the left bank is my favourite area.

My love to Provence too Marmight. We lived there for 10 years. I have just watched Monty Don in Aix, a favourite city of mine.

Whitstable in Kent. A lovely little town full of character and charm with lots of nice pubs and restaurants. Perfect for a weekend break.

Sheena Fri 29-May-15 17:19:58

Pembrokeshire to see my granddaughters .

Mamie Fri 29-May-15 17:30:37

My first thought was Bologna for a foodie weekend. But maybe just get into the car and drive down to the Loire, which is only just over two hours away.
Don't come to Normandy; the wind is really cold!

bikergran Fri 29-May-15 17:34:13

ohh I would love to visit all these places..maybe! I need to hire the Motorhome a little longer grin (and get a passport)!

Kintyre, my favourite part of Scotland, if Soop`s back home, maybe call in for a cuppa and a natter!

Greyduster Fri 29-May-15 17:42:13

Cambridge! I love it!

Katek Fri 29-May-15 17:53:37

Barcelona. Beautiful.

Bellanonna Fri 29-May-15 18:00:56

Mamie. I used to live in Bologna. Famous region for its lovely food. I put on quite a lot of weight there. Have been back a few times over the years. I would probably choose Paris for the weekend Biker. Quick train ride and never mind the wind in N France. I would probably spend my time inside. Happy thought.

glammanana Fri 29-May-15 18:19:31

Barcelona to visit some of the hand made shoe shops followed by coffee & brandy in one of the lovely squares whilst people watching.

ajanela Fri 29-May-15 19:08:19

Lisbon Portugal. The weather is sunny, the city beautiful and interesting with good fresh fish to eat and even time for a river trip or a short train ride to Carcavelos beach.

baubles Fri 29-May-15 22:22:48

Croatia. It is such a beautiful country, I'd like to visit Zagreb.

grannyactivist Fri 29-May-15 23:24:43

The Helford River in Cornwall.

Budapest for me. Never been, but I'd love to go there.
