Ladies please I love Vera and Durhamjen lucky old you living in such glorious countryside. Everybody pl don`t switch off otherwise there will be no more and I for will miss her.

I am not a huge TV fan and have only just discovered her sparkygran so not giving up on it just yet.

Vera's back tonight - with a hunky new sidekick too, he was briefly the main character's boyfriend in Stella.

Yes I'm looking forward to it too. Thank God for Youview box -Poldark, Indian Summers and now Vera! Good viewing for a Sunday night.

I'm going to watch it tomorrow on catch-up. I want to watch Poldark live tonight.

Thankfully I do not have to make these choices- I will only be watching Vera.

I think we'll split Vera in two and watch the second half on +1 after Poldark.

"We" are having to watch a taped football match as we have been out. So Vera is being taped at 8pm and we will watch half after the footie and the rest tomorrow as,being very old, we go to bed quite early.

Brenda Blethyn portrays Vera's character just as I imagine her in Anne Cleeve's books. She's sometimes mistaken for a bag lady, but she always manages to catch the criminal. Can't imagine a modern DI calling an interviewee 'pet', can you?

I`m so annoyed with myself! I`m a bit of a technological numpty, so as I didn`t know how to set the dvd to come on just for Vera, I set it to run through whilst I was at the hospital, stupidly forgetting that it only records for 2 hrs 59 mins, so I`ve only got the first half, GRRRRR!!!

Well I wasn't expecting that person to be guilty !! I like the new side kick

I like Vera. I didn't particularly enjoy it last night though. I don't know if that's because my mum talked all the way through (but remained quiet during the adverts), or because it was slow.

The scenery is stunning.

I certainly began to feel that it was more 'Midsummer Murders' up North than the original series. My original impression of the programme was as a bit of home grown Nordic Noir....but she's gone a bit soft and fluffy.

I thought that it was a bit convoluted but I will watch next week's, it may improve.
