Why is Ellie so determined to have her husband found guilty?

I think she's become so used to the idea of his guilt, resigned even, that she can't contemplate what life would be like for all of them if he were to be found not guilty.

I'm getting really sick of watching it now...

I find the vicar really odd, would not be surprised if there is another series!!! and he is guilty of all sorts of weird things. You see, I just do not know what is happening, so making up my own story line.

I'm only interested in who killed Danny Latimer. I couldn't care less about the Sandbrook stuff.

Oh but it's quite obvious. The girl who is missing from Sandbrook murdered Danny because she was living in the caravan with Pauline Quirke and the dog and Danny saw her. She is actually PQ's other illegitimate child (half sister to Nigel) and PQ is now hiding her somewhere else. The vicar of course knows about the girl and is trying to get Joe to confess so she can make her escape.
See I can do these silly stories as well!!!!

They're trying to throw too much stuff into the mixture resulting in more being less imo.

And would somebody please tell the producers that juries can only seek clarification of facts already disclosed during the trial. A real jury would not be allowed to ask whether Danny's father had been questioned.

And the nonsense idea that Danny's father killed him because he had seen him in flagrante in the van was totally mad - he had written a note confessing as much to his wife, so why would he kill to hide the fact from her?

Maybe it was Grandma, who is now six feet under.

They'll be exhuming Grandma as well without due legal process next week - she knows whodunnit.

I reckon the Aussie girl did it, she saw Danny spying on her and his dad. She confessed to the vicar but he fancies her so is trying to make sure that -iforgethisname - (the accused) is found guilty.

OR

Ellie's son knows what happened. He was jealous of Danny because he knew that Danny had a 'special relationship' with his father.
Perhaps he did it, not the Aussie. His father sent him home and put the body on the beach and confessed himself to save his son.

GN should have a competition - prize could be a week in Broadchurch for whoever gets the right answer..

Well as long as David Tennant isn't there as well. Doesn't he realise that even if a man chooses to sport a beard it shouldn't grow all down his neck as well...

The trouble is, if the jury decide they can't safely convict Joe and he's found not guilty, the series could go on forever...

The Aussie girl does make sense, except Joe wouldn't say he was guilty to protect her. Maybe Joe and the vicar were having a relationship and Danny clocked it. The possibilities are endless. Are there clifs at Clevedon by the way? I don't recall seeing them when I holidayed there as a child.

Tegan no cliffs (well, little ones at each end) as of yesterday, and no lovely golden sands, only ankle-wrecking pebbles!
Some of the town scenes are filmed in Clevedon but the beach scenes are filmed in West Bay.
I think there is a link to where it was filmed in an earlier post.

Perhaps Joe thinks it was his son so is trying to protect him when in fact it was the Aussie girl.

I think Tom would have cracked by now if he'd done it. He doesn't look guilty enough - although he obviously knows something...

I gave up, deleted the recordings and felt better for it.

I did the same with 'Wolf Hall' rubylady
