I totally agree. Also a lot was filmed in semi darkness so I missed a lot as I have eyesight problems. I feel that each week the plot is becoming more unbelievable. Unfortunately there is little else for me to watch on any other channel.

You didn't miss much CharleyG! Lots of spooky woods with spooky wood music so it was really obvious something nasty was going to happen! Are people only murdered in the dark?!?

I didn't see it as I've recorded it to watch during the day as its so scary (kidding!!). I reckon that I almost like it because its so crap! It used to be funny listening to Terry Wogan dissecting it when he was on the radio in the morning. There cant be many "festivals" left for them to have!

Midsummer Murders is brilliant in its unbelievable awfulness!

I just love it, we get it a series behind on the Flemish channels. Always record it to watch on a wet dark Belgian winters day. It is just light entertainment and totally unbelievable.

There can't be many left in the village the way they are being killed off!

Two hours of undemanding telly plus some laugh out loud wooden acting.

It seems a bit of a dodgy place to live really don't you think ? I don't think I'll be buying a house there in a hurry.

We still enjoy it but miss the old cast. Joyce's dreadful cooking, Cully turning up when least expected - 'What are you doing here, Cully?' and Ben Jones often looking as though he was chewing a wasp.

The family dynamic of the new lot doesn't grab me. Cute baby, the dog is a star and the wife might be a glam head teacher but we know a better one of those and she resides in Harrogate.

Lovely house though.

When I say 'we' I mean Gransnetters on here not DH and I who don't know anyone in Harrogate.

A soporific programme, easy watching for me after a hectic day....

I like the home life with the very attractive, but believably so, wife and the (agreed) star dog Sykes. I also like Neil Dudgeon. There was a lot of whining from viewers when the old cast went, but I think the show has settled down very well, although I thought the new DS didn't start out well - but he seems to be settling down as well.

I thought exactly the same about the lack of crowds.

I see it in both incarnations on different Sky channels but don't think it was much more believable with John Nettles! Poor Joyce, it was always someone from her painting group/poetry class/amdram society who got bumped off. Hang on.....maybe it was Joyce trying to inject some drama into her part and nobody discovered she was the villain of the piece!!
