Anyone been to see this yet? I can't really find the words to describe what I thought of it - it brought back lots of memories of the 1960s and reminded me of the real evil that existed then in the southern states . Well worth seeing but not an easy experience. Violence very realistic - had me flinching several times.

I don't think I could bear to watch it. I like David Oyelowo as an actor. Did you watch the Oscars? He had tears running down his cheeks when it won best song. So did I!

I found it a bit slow at the beginning, and wish that I'd realised how many of the people in the film went on to become very influential politically. I realised how ignorant I was of so much that happened at that time [although the film does point out that it's a dramatisation not a documentary].
