Wish I'd been there as well NanKate! Never mind....measured tones of the shipping forecaster eventually sent me off.

That is too early for my bedtime. I am an owl.

What do they think real writers do with words then? Pile them in a heap and let us take our pick? No, they sculpt characters and stories and descriptions out of them.

I think I might go into sculpture - I could tear up a dictionary, put the pieces into a waste-paper bin and put it in a sculpture exhibition as "The printer's bones, - raw materials for a papier mache Venus de Milo"

Inspired thinking Elegran! You'd probably get an Arts Council grant for it!

I was going to suggest you'd win the Turner Prize, Elegran, but have just discovered it's only given to people under 50!

I heard some of the programme and thought it was rubbish too - not long to wait though till 'till today in Parliament ' is back. Sat night is better with Round Britain Quiz or the music one. We are an hour ahead here so it is about midnight when I hit the sack and this is then the dreaded 11pm UK slot.
Also some nights now they broadcast BBC Schools programmes about 2 am - they used to be on another channel entirely.

Sometimes the World programmes are interesting - but I rarely hear them all through!

I listened to a bit of a documentary about Portland stone, then turned the radio off to read in bed. Then I put my book down and turned the radio on again. What was that? I had worked out it was some kind of cross media thing. My DH and I were both unimpressed. It reminded me of experimental theatre from the 1960s but not in a good way.
