The Clangers

Oh the whistles - we got given them once and I think my Mum really regretted it! Sisters and I spent hours 'talking' to each other with them

Yes I knitted them in the 70s when my kids were small. I loved them, they were enchanting and very imaginative. Welcome back Clangers!

Hilda, we used to have a couple of those little Clangers that whistled, I think I put them in the children's Christmas stockings when they were young, very cute indeed.

I recorded it for me. DH watched on with amusement while I enjoyed every minute and there was a nice little lesson about persevering if something doesn't go right first time. I love their little knitted fingers.

I bought a Clangers knitting pattern from Ebay yesterday but have saved the tiny one to maybe knit with any left over pink wool when I've knitted the bigger one.

I love them and I was listening to Radio 4 last week when Michael Palin was being interviewed
I look forward to introducing DGS to their delights!

I have a tiny clanger in my China cabinet. It still whistles when you squeeze it's tummy. I keep trying to give it to my DGC, but my DH won't let me

I had no idea it had been re made. I have a few Clangers around the house; I gave a couple to my son when he went off to University [not sure why, but it seemed important that he didn't leave home without them ].

To this day, every time I dish up soup, my DH says 'thank you my little soup dragon'

DD always loved the original Clangers and GS2 who is nearly 3 adores the new ones. Michael Palin is perfect as the narrator and I did love all the itchy clothes the knitting machine made! GS2 enjoyed the soup machine bursting

I'm there too - and very pleased with the new episodes currently being transmitted. Michael Palin is a fine choice for the narrator, achieving some of Oliver Postgate's simple, friendly approach.

I suppose children can watch it too (grudgingly)...

I've recorded it for when our 4 and 2 year old GSs come to stay. So pleased your grandchildren have given it good reviews.

Our grandson was also glued to it.
