No, he won't Ana. Next series guaranteed.
Great Stuff!!
When is Amol Rajan leaving the Today programme please?
Have you ever 'googled' yourself?
I watched the first series because it was compulsive viewing, but found it v disturbing. Now I'm thinking, Do I watch the next, or leave it alone? Out of interest ,does anyone else share that view.
No, he won't Ana. Next series guaranteed.
Great Stuff!!
I did wonder what Nevison had ever done to you Jalima
Hmm...Tommy Lee Royce has received Ryan's letter now though, merlot. He's not going to give up!
Desperately sad ending though.
Me too, I thought the mad woman was either going to come after the family with a petrol bomb or commit suicide with petrol. I hope there will be another series too I suppose Catherine will always be wondering if its in the genes!
Leading nicely into the next series.
I'm glad the little boy wasn't put through more confusion.
OK I got it wrong!
I thought there might be more of a twist.
biker, I'm a similar distance from Hebden, so pleased to read there is to be another series, it's far the best thing on telly currently.
I've pm'd you with more information about where I am.
Just Goggle "is there going to be a 3rd series of happy valley"?? and.........................it seems!!
Yes!!!! there is....just google and read for yourself, I thought I had heard that SL wasn't doing any more..but obviously you cant always believed what you read/hear! I really hope there is a third series.
*Ian64 where are you roughly? I am approx 40 mins form Hebden Bridge, we are planning to hava a ride out there again soon on our scooters
I haven't read the link but i'm a huge fan of Sally Wainwright - Last Tango, Scott and Bailey and now Happy Valley. These drama's are all set and filmed in the area I live in - it's fantastic to see it celebrated in this way.
Hi there.

We were very pleased to have an hour long chat with without doubt two of the most inspirational & successful women working in media & broadcasting today; Bafta award winning writer Sally Wainwright and Bafta award winning producer Karen Lewis.
Sally is the writer of award winning & critically acclaimed TV Dramas such as Scott & Bailey, Last Tango in Halifax & Happy Valley, she has also recently moved successfully into directing. Karen has been producing Sally's work for over ten years, as well as making other shows for the production power house Red, based in Manchester and itself led by another inspirational woman.
They spoke to Rach and Jemma about making it big in such a male dominated industry and picked some tracks from some of their favourite female artists. They also spoke exclusively about their forthcoming BBC feature film based on the lives of the Bronte's, a lifelong project of passion for Sally and itself a story about women making it in a male dominated world.
I love Sarah Lancashire.
Really hope the last episode is satisfying in its winding up.
I'd love to do a Happy Valley tour of the area. If they can do it for Gavin and Stacey, I'm sure they can do one for this
There are so many loose ends to tie up. I can't wait for the last episode - and yet I've enjoyed it so much I don't want it to end. My DS's house and car has been in shot three times during the series (they were filming next door but one to him for weeks) and one big question for me is - when is he going to get that hedge cut?
jalima I agree with you about Daryl. It's a long way from reasonable doubt. Thinking about the mutilated sheep-could it be possible that Daryl had done something to the sheep and thought his mother was referring to the sheep being hurt and not the girls? The sheep incident DID seem to be a bit random; maybe a clue there somewhere?
On the point of Catherine, I don't think I could take any more of her character. She's interesting, but a bit...I dunno...all over the place? I'm beginning to wonder if, in fact, TLR is Ryan's dad after all. Catherine seems to be in no doubt, but what evidence is there? Have tests been done? Why is Catherine so willing to embrace TLR as Ryan's dad when/if there is no firm evidence? Anyone could potentially be the dad. We've been led to believe that Becky was raped, and subsequently hanged herself through guilt, or shame, or something else. Perhaps there's more to it than that.
I'm still wondering about the trafficked girls, the Knezevics (?) and the hanged/murdered man. I can understand the point of the girls, I think, but I can't yet see the point of the hanged man's murder. If there is a point.
If Daryl was the murderer (but I still have serious doubts) then there was a clue in the first? episode with the mutilation of the sheep; practising on the sheep first perhaps? Although I can't remember the type of injury perpetrated on the sheep.
Beyond reasonable doubt?
a long way to go yet
. An ambiguous confession to his mother and a bit of rope, a bump on his car.
If Sarah Lancashire isn't going to do another series maybe she will die and young police woman and Catherine Kelly detective will be the ones to catch everyone and go into next series.
Oh, I missed the drinking
and the rope
I am slipping, will get the sack
probable
But he did go a bit mad with the lump hammer, he drank a lot and one or two of us spotted the rope in the boot of his car. I honestly don't think the writer (the wonderful Sally Wainwright) would have delivered such a bleak ending to this week's episode without it being true.
And there are so many other loose ends to tie up next week in the space of an hour, never mind the probably arson attack!
that tough sheep farming woman knew the extent of her son's vulnerabilities
that's just it, though, he is vulnerable rather than a psychopath.
He probably thought that having sex was a bad thing that he did to the women.
I don't want it to be him (even though he is dead) - or possibly not!!
Ana there is a possibility that she put the gun in her mouth!!!
She would have to have very long arms
Is he the young police woman's dad? A big shot in the police himself?
Yes. Ann the PCSO's dad - featured more in the last series when Ann was kidnapped by Tommy Lee
He is not in the police force, he owns a local business which was also featured a lot in the last series.
Catherine's sister is friendly with them.
Or she shot herself in the toe hoping her steel toe caps sent the bullet flying north.
I'm with the Daryl is the murderer and his mum shot him gang. He said he'd done bad things and there were so many indications that his mum was worried he'd been up to no good. He also told his mum that the police now had his DNA because of the awful incident when he lost it and attacked the bullies. (I mean the bullies were awful, not D for retaliating) We mother's tend to recognise our children's frailties and my view is that tough sheep farming woman knew the extent of her son's vulnerabilities. As someone said up thread, it was reminiscent of the final scene in Mice and Men.
As for John (policeman/murderer) Catherine Kelly's character is certain the murder of Vicky wasn't done by the person who murdered the 3 prostitutes. She's talked about Vicky's murderer being forensically aware. John is losing it increasingly. I wonder if he'll attack his wife and end up being arrested when his children/wife phone for help. The way he called her a whore etc in the week before this's episode was absolutely terrifying.
As for the creepy TA - how scary is she and how good is the young boy playing Ryan. Yes, Catherine sleeping in the conservatory has to have more meaning than we've seen yet.
I do not want Catherine to barge into school and bash the TA, much as I'm sure she wants to. She's teetering on the edge, given the anniversary of her daughter's death and is reacting rather than responding. Keep calm Catherine
