So, as the trial has been and gone, we are all glad that Helen won, and Rob had his true self revealed, will the rift 'tween Adam & Ian be healed?

Whose jam will be judged to be the best? Will Joe approach his final rest?

Will Grange Farm rent be paid on time?

Can I be arsed inspired to write more drivel rhyme?

Away we go!

Jill arrested? Finger printed? A story line too far, m'thinks!

Although a well aimed flap Jack could be seen as a dangerous weapon............

AyjayF Tue 25-Jul-17 20:48:29

Is Harrison the only police officer in Borsetshire? Those police cuts are savage?

Elrel Tue 25-Jul-17 23:11:12

OTT but hilarious. I thought! Bodes ill for the Fête but there's always a problem about who will open it. I shall never look at flapjacks in the same way again. Clearly they are up there with Terry Pratchett's Dwarf Combat Bread - which I thought was fictional until we encountered it in Umbria!

Happened to see an Archers SW today, not his work but he'll pass on my amusement to the writer. I think he was enjoying a flapjack ...

I can' remember the last time I laughed out loud at an Archers episode.

MawBroon Fri 28-Jul-17 17:28:19

Listened to last night's repeat (Caroline's memorial)
I wonder if the actors were making it a memorial to the actress who played her?
Anyway, I thought it was quite moving and I admit I cried. (I know it is only acting!)

I shed a tear too, which only goes to show how well written the characters are. They are definitely part of my life smile Ed is one of my favourite characters and to me he was a high point (or sad point) of the episode.

MawBroon Fri 28-Jul-17 17:46:12

His comment comparing himself to the broken and mended jug was an inspired piece of writing IMO

GracesGranMK2 Fri 28-Jul-17 17:59:25

That was the bit MB.

Can someone clue me in please? What is the history between Alistair and the dreaded Matt? Why has this pulled his chain?

Lazigirl Mon 31-Jul-17 21:04:25

Wasn't it when Alistair was gambling with a group including Matt?

AyjayF Mon 31-Jul-17 22:57:49

I think it was to do with Alistair's gambling too but I can't remember the details.

Elrel Tue 01-Aug-17 00:39:51

Didn't Alistair try to pay his gambling debts by (almost?) getting involved in a horse doping scheme. It may have involved himtaking drugs from his own practice.

kezia Tue 01-Aug-17 15:56:43

Oooh, I'd forgotten that!

Lazigirl Wed 02-Aug-17 18:24:11

Matt exploited Alistairs's gambling addiction, taking thousands from him at poker, and then bought back his IOUs as a means of blackmailing him to dope a racehorse. When said horse was injured Matt wanted Alistair to put it down but A wouldn't, and ended up remortgaging his house to repay Matt.

The Archers have at last acknowledged Brexit with the current storyline about the pickers' caravans graffiti attacks. Perhaps it has been mentioned before but I'm more of a casual listener these days as it has become so boring.

Ambergirl Wed 02-Aug-17 19:39:42

Just found this thread.....Hilarious! I LOVE the Archers.....my husband groans every night that I put it on as I doze off listening to the latest goings on in Ambridge....I often have to re listen the next day as I fell asleep!! Jill and the Flapjack made me chuckle!!

merlotgran Sun 06-Aug-17 19:26:54

What a great episode tonight. Laughed all the way through it. Jill, Brian and a pissed up choir.

Brilliant!

maryeliza54 Sun 06-Aug-17 19:39:31

I'm very worried about Harrison - I want him to go to a solicitor to safeguard his contribution to buying the house in case ( perish the thought) things don't work out.

AyjayF Tue 08-Aug-17 20:15:55

What is Alastair up to?

merlotgran Tue 08-Aug-17 22:05:00

Gambling again?

GracesGranMK2 Thu 10-Aug-17 16:40:28

Just had a very odd experience which made me wonder exactly where I was. There was an exhibition in our village hall of plans (yet to be submitted) for some new houses.

Oh the nimbyism! I think it was when one women said 'do they know the amount of agricultural traffic we get through the village' that my mouth engage before my brain and I said 'they really are going to have to build somewhere'. The looks! Lynda Snell eat your heart out! At that point I felt I had been kidnapped and moved to Ambridgegrin This slow traffic (on the odd occasion it happens) is on the main village road which is the road between two towns.

The we heard about the bodies that one lady had been told were there ... dum de dum de dum de dum ...

Lazigirl Thu 10-Aug-17 18:38:11

Similar in my village too GG but the proposed houses arn't homes that Ed & Emma might want but huge detached (more profit).

suzied Thu 10-Aug-17 18:40:28

What's the betting Ed n Emmerr can't afford the "affordable homes"
