So, as the trial has been and gone, we are all glad that Helen won, and Rob had his true self revealed, will the rift 'tween Adam & Ian be healed?

Whose jam will be judged to be the best? Will Joe approach his final rest?

Will Grange Farm rent be paid on time?

Can I be arsed inspired to write more drivel rhyme?

Away we go!

LullyDully Thu 06-Oct-16 20:11:05

That was quick MG.

No surprise money gone from joint account. Hooray for divorce proceedings.

merlotgran Fri 07-Oct-16 20:39:37

Why is Helen having to pay Anna? I thought she qualified for legal aid.

Nanna58 Fri 07-Oct-16 22:34:34

Don't listen myself but always leave it on that channel when I go out for the dogs. Horrified- thought it was a safe bet, but judging by these threads it's a hotbed of sin! My poor pooches are probably traumatised??

I'm still away but managed to listen to Friday evenings episode just now. It was vintage archers, even Kate was a more positive character. I do enjoy her focus on chakra realignment. Sooosan was excellent and Neil a good husband,. Kirstie continues to be a good friend and there is hope Helen just may emerge from this a stronger person.
Merlot, I thought Helen qua.ified for legal aid in the criminal but I don't believe she would in the family proceedings. I'll check.

I wish we had an edit button, I should have said that if the family proceedings had been public law, that is care proceedings, I believe parents do get legal aid. Henry and jack were involved in private law proceedings, where legal aid is rare.

Morning, Iam

There's speculation on Mumsnet as well about Helen's right to legal aid. Maybe the SWs will sweep previous info under the carpet. I'm SURE they said she'd get it for the criminal trial.

Who organised the Bridge Farm side of the family proceedings. Was it Pat when she realised Rob had abducted Henry?

Iam64 Mon 10-Oct-16 19:50:54

Good evening merlot, I'm home, so hoping to catch up and follow properly after the pressure of trying to find wifi and at least have some idea what's happening in Ambridge.

I think you're right, Rob grabbed Henry and Pat responded by asking the family court to place Henry with his family at Bridge Farm. The legal fees for Patony, Rob and Helen will be fairly huge I should think.

I missed tonight's episode because of broadband problems, now fixed thankfully.

Jill starting with dementia I wonder? - her behaviour is out of character.

DaphneBroon Tue 11-Oct-16 07:38:40

Could be a UTI, I do think they are highlighting her out of character reaction. Although personally I could not agree MORE about Toby.

Luckygirl Tue 11-Oct-16 08:37:14

Do the Archers characters have bladders?.......discuss.

merlotgran Tue 11-Oct-16 09:47:42

Emma's bladder is a star character.

AyjayF Tue 11-Oct-16 20:13:43

No, no, no to Ian going!!! He's one of the best.

Iam64 Wed 12-Oct-16 08:42:11

I responded by thinking, good for you Ian, LTB (to use a well known mumsnet piece of advice). I also wondered if this would free Adam up to contact Charlie, who could come to Ambridge and tell all about Rob. The next thoughts were that it would be better if Adam and Ian finally sat down and talked through what has happened in their relationship, you know - as people do when things go wrong and one partner is seriously thinking of leaving. He and Ian love each other. Adam has been modelling himself on Brian, time he stopped if he wants a contented and peaceful life.

merlotgran Wed 12-Oct-16 09:46:28

Funny how when Charlie was threatening Adam's relationship with Ian we wanted him to leave. Now it looks as though Ian is leaving we want Charlie back to kick Rob into touch good and proper.

Charlie was a bit of a bastard in his early days. Susan was the only person in Ambridge who sucked up to him just as she did Rob until the scales fell from her eyes. Charlie then went all wet lettuce on us.

I'd love to see a storyline featuring Rob and Charlie at loggerheads and Charlie uncovering all the stuff that seems to have been swept under the carpet.

Iam64 Wed 12-Oct-16 11:29:18

Great idea merlot. I'd hope that didn't mean just/Adam losing Ian. I began to believe that Charlie did fall in love with Adam

Nelliemoser Wed 12-Oct-16 11:55:35

I think they are getting ready to loose Jill. Perhaps the actress wants to retire, we have had lots of hints.

I remember the SWs killing off the lovely sensible Betty Tucker. The actor who played Betty wanted to go to be with her family in Australia or New Zealand. That came as a nasty shock.

Iam64 Wed 12-Oct-16 20:23:55

I do hope not Nelliemoser. Jill is one of the best older female characters. How can the script writers consider killing Jill but letting Joe continue to grump about.

AyjayF Wed 12-Oct-16 22:37:24

Why has Alistair gone all 'husbandy' all of a sudden. What's his game?

Nelliemoser Wed 12-Oct-16 23:23:06

AjayF I wondered about Alistair as well he is suddenly sounding very attentive to Shula. Is he back gambling again? or has he got himself a floosie.

phoenix Wed 12-Oct-16 23:32:21

Alistair is a boring fart, seems incredible that he has come back from (almost) ruin, financially, to be able to consider having the funds for Saint Shula to become joint master of the hunt?

Jill still sometimes sounds as if she is being goosed, although not so frequently.

Bert Fry hasn't been heard for a while, but no doubt he still goes "Wer" before saying anything (by the by, he has a very Worcestershire accent)

Susan's pronunciation of certain words is still very irritating (although possibly authentic for somewhere between Bryn and Ambridge) but thank goodness she hasn't referred to "Christyfur" in a while!

Does anyone else remember Neil's classic utterance "wine? on a MONDAY!!

LullyDully Thu 13-Oct-16 07:56:23

A few characters have turned " nice" over the last few days. Is that the new script writers. ??? Perhaps Rob and Ursula are the next due a make over. Some hope.

merlotgran Thu 13-Oct-16 10:14:23

I did wonder why Bert wasn't invited to Jill's birthday tea.

phoenix Thu 13-Oct-16 19:19:05

Well! Knob is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!

His utterances still have the ability to leave me feeling shock Let's all hope that the psychiatric report reveals his true inner self!

Although of course if it does, he will challenge it..........

PS Sorry Jonny fans, he's starting to get a bit nauseatingly too good to be true.

Iam64 Thu 13-Oct-16 19:20:01

Rob doesn't get it at all does he? An application to the family court to have Jack's name re registered as Gideon, his birth certificate changed in the face of opposition from Jack's mother. In the face of strong legal advice that he doesn't have a chance of this he's given clear instructions. Is he getting legal aid because he has no income? that's our money folks

His description of the court appointed psychologist was sublime - he thinks she's too young and too female to have a clue about men, glorious. I do hope we get the highlights if not a full copy of the report.
