It isn't something I usually comment on but

Leslie Joseph is 71 in two weeks time!!!!!!!

DaphneBroon Sun 02-Oct-16 21:52:56

That is a travesty. If you are unfit, younretire. End of.

Charleygirl Sun 02-Oct-16 22:06:10

I wonder if she will appear next Saturday? I thought that she looked disappointed when she and Brendon were not eliminated.

gillybob Sun 02-Oct-16 22:11:54

I hate myself for saying this but...... Ed Balls.... blush

cornergran Sun 02-Oct-16 22:13:28

If her physicality stops her dancing one week why wouldn't it the next? I don't mean to sound heartless but it doesn't bode well for any future dance off she is in. Sorry, crabby today.

LullyDully Sun 02-Oct-16 22:15:53

I can't see Anastasia being able to carry on with all that stretching etc. Stupid to risk her health.

Teddy123 Sun 02-Oct-16 22:18:47

Wilmaknickersfit ..... Lesley Joseph hasn't spent "years playing Jewish women" since she actually IS a Jewish woman.

NotTooOld Sun 02-Oct-16 22:23:21

Anastacia seems like a pouty diva to me. If she is not physically fit they should not have allowed her to be in the show in the first place, sympathetic though I am to her post-op problems. Why didn't she hold her Strictly place over for a year to make sure she was completely healed after her op? I feel sorry for whatsisname who was knocked out this evening, it should have been Anastacia who got the chop, even if she is donating her fee to cancer research.

As for Ed Balls, I'm so glad he's still in. He's a real trier, isn't he? Perhaps he'll be like John Sargent, keep getting voted in by a sympathetic public until he feels he must voluntarily drop out. He'll become so popular that Jeremy Corbyn will plead to get him back in the Shadow Cabinet.

Anniebach Sun 02-Oct-16 22:40:37

I enjoying watching the ones who cannot dance ,and if not voted out to soon , watching them improve a little each week. This year the majority seem expert dancers

gulligranny Sun 02-Oct-16 22:45:59

Just back from getting all ready for the dinner party - yes it's Claudia Winkleman I don't really want, not tiny little Frangipane (who was great at the Olympics).

I have to confess I don't know who Danny Mac actually is, but have read on here that he has dancing experience. Hmm.

BlueBelle Sun 02-Oct-16 23:32:30

Gulliegrannie I ve never heard of half of them I didn't know Daisy who you all think is pretty and I don't, I didn't know the Danny or kelvin man or the other black guy or the gymnast or anastasia

Anniebach Sun 02-Oct-16 23:41:03

I knew of four , Ed Balls, Lesley Joseph, Will Young and the BBC presenter , sorry forgotten her name

merlotgran Sun 02-Oct-16 23:55:29

I have a soft spot for Will Young ever since the lovely part he played in Mrs. Henderson Presents.

WilmaKnickersfit Mon 03-Oct-16 11:03:41

Teddy123 I know that. However, she's an actor who has played the stereotypical Jewish woman. This isn't Pedant's Corner.

Jane10 Mon 03-Oct-16 11:07:59

I gather from the papers that Anastacia had a 'meltdown' and filming had to be halted for 30 minutes. Brendan not happy and had to be comforted by Anton. Poor Brendan. What a shame for him.

Anniebach Mon 03-Oct-16 11:13:31

Poor Brendan, voted off in first vote

DaphneBroon Mon 03-Oct-16 11:21:11

No he wasn't it was the other couple surely? Or have things moved on since last night's programme?

DanniRae Mon 03-Oct-16 11:23:22

Brendan is still in Anniebach - it was the other couple - Melvin and Janette who left. Because Anastacia couldn't compete in the dance off it was decided by the couple who had the least public votes. So unfair! angry

DaphneBroon Mon 03-Oct-16 11:23:47

Manrara and Melvin Odoom "went home".
Grossly unfair IMHO

Jane10 Mon 03-Oct-16 11:24:29

She wouldn't rather than couldn't!

Jalima Mon 03-Oct-16 11:28:37

Because they couldn't have the dance-off, the one with the fewest viewer votes had to leave according to the rules, which seems unfair.
I do think Anastacia, plucky though she may be, should have retired gracefully because the other contestant could have won the dance-off and stayed in. Nowhe'll never know how far he coud have got, shame, he seemed a lovely man with all his family cheering him on.
Ana that is normal reconstruction procedure, using back muscle, tearing it sounds drastic and can't see her staying in.

Ana Mon 03-Oct-16 11:29:02

I don't think Anasacia will be in for much longer, She's going to have to be very careful and restrained in her dancing from now on.

Jalima Mon 03-Oct-16 11:31:40

Shall we start a campain to save The Strictly One? (Melvin)

Jalima Mon 03-Oct-16 11:33:13

Campaign!

Anniebach Mon 03-Oct-16 11:47:18

Oops sorry didn't mean Brendan

DaphneBroon Mon 03-Oct-16 12:00:47

Would. I be harsh in thinking she might have lost some of the "sympathy votes" she might have had previously on account of supporting Cancer Research. Or being cynical?
