We sat in a MAU yesterday for six hours and saw one lovely young doctor rushed off her feet and another (male) one sauntering around looking very relaxed.

Who is babysitting all the babies?

How do they get calls on their mobiles from people they haven't had any previous contact with.
When they are struggling to cope financially how can they afford to go to the cafe for a cuppa instead of going home

And in Coronation street they buy, sell and rent out properties virtually overnight.

Why do so many of their phone conversations end without anyone saying "goodbye"?

Why, in radio dramas, do they have to make disgusting noises to show that they are eating or drinking? When we started listening regulalrly in the late 70s it seemed to be possible for them to indicate eating or drinking quite politely!

I hate when they just take a sip of a drink (usually wine) or a bite of food then leave the rest. That would never happen in my world!

And it's always broad daylight in Emmerdale and Coronation street, even though there's just been a wild stag night or similar!

I have always wondered that too Daddima 'I'll see you in the pub later' with no time etc. They also come out of their houses to chat to someone and the door closes and they have nothing in their hands, ie a key to get back in. Also in the Rovers the men ask for 'a pint'. A pint of what I wonder - lager, cider, bitter, mild, Guinness? Also in the days when most people had house phones, the phone would ring and they would look at it for a few minutes before answering it.

And when Martin Lewis on the Money Programme has members of the public phoning telephone/utility/whatever companies to haggle for discounts, they get through straight away, whereas when I tried to follow suit I was told I was in a queue and was No. 27. Are they just acting on the Money Programme? Is it all a fix?

Our main grip is not being able to hear clearly. This probably says more about our hearing and thank goodness for subtitles.
Number two is overly complicated plots in dramas. Usually dozens of characters which you need a pencil and paper to jot down who's who and what is their part in the plot. Do try to keep up though as feel it is good for the grey matter.

How do the female doctors in Casualty always look so pristine in their glamorous outfits and why do they never fall off their stilleto heels? I am of course meaning the consultant grade - most of the others wear suitable shoes like Crocs!

And why does nobody seem to actually do any machining in Underworld? They're always just fiddling with a pair of knickers while gossiping away...

How many bedrooms do they have in those little houses in Coronation Street? They have so many different people living there. Why is Underworld the only garment factory in Lancashire not to have relocated to the Far East?
