Anyone else watch this? I enjoyed it sufficiently to give it more of my precious time smile. It's quite light and has the good-looking cop sidekick from Vera in it. Ashley Jensen and Rebecca Front too. smile

Although ... they sure threw everything at us in the first episode, I hope the writer as more themes up her sleeve otherwise the story is over before it began.

Saw the second episode last night and now she (the main character) is beginning to annoy me. I think I would definitely want the registrar to turn u looking a bit more professional and presentable than that. Love Rebecca Flood though - very watchable actress.

yggdrasil It's always the same though, when tv drama portrays what they think are 'real-life scenarios'. How many of us are left yelling at the screen - 'That's stupid, that would never happen in Real Life' etc?

I think it's called dramatic license' or, as DH would say, 'If a story's worth telling, it's worth exaggerating!' (tongue in cheek of course).
Throw every topical situation into the mix as well just for dramatic effect.

Rebecca Front is excellent as usual.

Really enjoying this, story-wise, but Ashley Jensen is not a good enough actress to carry the main role which makes it less believable than it might have been. Rebecca Front is brilliant as always and does more with a raised eyebrow than Ashley Jensen does with all her gurning.

The different story-lines are intriguing, and I must say last night's same-sex wedding had us both reaching for the tissues!

Settled down to watch recording of Episode 3 and bailed after 10 minutes because yet another box was ticked (online bullying). Talk about predictable! I've cancelled the series link recording.

This dragon is out. grin

Most of BBC drama and documentaries these days seem more concerned with box ticking than what will appeal to their paying public.

I liked it, missing this week so will have to catch up iPad

I'd watch it just to see Rebecca Front in a different role!

Enjoyed it - whilst doing my knitting at the same time.

I watched it on catch up and enjoyed it. Light entertainment.

I enjoyed it too, some good storylines. I have to agree about Ashley Jensen though, Rebecca Front brings so much more to her role.

This week was a lesson in how not to manage misconduct and a disciplinary process.

Smithy Sat 02-Dec-17 09:29:00

In real life no manager would allow that to happen and for them to keep their jobs, but it is fiction and I find it entertaining.

Jalima1108 Sat 02-Dec-17 10:01:56

Who is it playing the senior manager? It's annoying me that I know him but can't remember!

I'm enjoying it for what it is - light entertainment. I'm sure it has no real bearing on work in a registrars office, but the story lines are keeping me entertained. Sometimes all you need is something not too deep, but which holds your interest and passes an hour.
