Anyone watching this? Sarah Lancashire is such a good actress I didn’t fall asleep during the first one so it must have been good ?

It is annoying when they leave it to the viewer to tie up the loose ends and work out what will happen. That's the job of the writer, and not to do it is a cop-out. I found it frustrating that we didn't know whether the real killer would confess (or be denounced) ; the social worker, who was the central character at the start, was cast adrift and became just collateral damage. Pity, because some parts of it were very good.

Well it was not just me then. I thought I'd had a quick doze and missed the "punchline" as it were.

Not a patch on Happy Valley. (Which I hope won't be resurrected) as much as I enjoyed it.
