Everywhere on social media you see complaints of bias by the BBC.

This link shows one area of absolute bias. No argument whatsoever

Adonis.

“Every news outlet covered the Great North March except the BBC.”

It would also not let Adonis discuss whether Russia Today ought to be banned because it didn’t want to annoy Putin!!

“The BBC appears compromised

Not a single mention on the BBC app of all the anti-Brexit marches all over the country

whitewave Sun 25-Mar-18 16:12:28

I think really the best thing would be for all politicians and people taking part in legal democratic protests etc to change their name by deed poll to Farage.

Everyone would be sure of the BBC reporting about them then!

A huge March yesterday in Exeter never mentioned by the BBC.- they thought it more important to film Farage chucking two dead fish in the Thames. Is this brexit-bias or London-bias or both?

varian Sun 25-Mar-18 17:17:21

Wera Hobhouse LibDem MP for Bath was one of the speakers at the SW March for Europe in Exeter yesterday. If you know anyone who relies on the BBC to report important events, they might not have heard about this - so please pass it on.

Rees-Mogg will be giving a speech today and will be covered extensively by what used to be the BBC but is now the BBCJRMFarageTV

Viewers are beginning to complain that the BBC is out of control in its biased coverage

If there are any GNetters still watching BBC News and imagining they are still seeing an impartial balanced version of the news as it might have been when we were young, I would advise you to try watching Channel 4 - or almost any other news channel, then decide whether it just might be possible the BBC has become the Brexit Broadcasting Corporartion.

grin only in the view of arch Remainers varian
The BBC is not at all biased and airs all sorts of interviews with all sorts of people.
Some are beginning to get paranoid about the BBC ( if it doesn’t favour what they themselves do.)

Anniebach Thu 29-Mar-18 21:01:31

The Press is biased, the BBC is biased , will Corbyn's next speech be - infamy , infamy, the've all got it infamy

I used to admire the BBC and believed it gave unbiased news. However recently there seem to be many presenters who tow the Tory line. I think they’re worried about the Government changing the BBC funding. Perhaps they’ve been warned not to upset the Tories.
On the Today programme there is blatant pro Brexit and/or pro Tory bias. John Humphreys is a prime example, but Nick Robinson was a high flying Young Conservative, David Dimbleby lets Brexiteers speak far longer than Remainers, Andrew Neil usually takes the Tory line, even Jo Coburn this week has been very anti-Corbyn. Laura Kuenssberg has softened her anti-Corbyn sneers a bit recently. Emma Barnett is another secret Tory.
They all frequently fail to challenge blatant Tory lies and accept that Labour can’t manage the economy despite clear proof to the contrary. (Government debt for example).

lemongrove Thu 29-Mar-18 21:17:13

So now it’s not only Brexit that the BBC favours, but the Tories!
Anything else?

Anniebach Thu 29-Mar-18 21:48:45

If Emma Barnett is a secret Tory how is it known ?

mostlyharmless Thu 29-Mar-18 22:25:11

Emma Barnett used to be a journalist on Daily Telegraph and The Times both Tory papers. She defends the Tories and doesn’t question their lies about Labour’s economic record.

Lord Adonis states

32nd appearance of Farage on QT. BBC refusal to report anti-Brexit marches last Saturday. Vetoing of BBC chief execs of programmes criticising Brexit (of which more from Lord Adonis later). Constant bias of Today programme, convinces me that the BBC is in breach of its charter.

varian Fri 30-Mar-18 19:00:40

And the use of an ardent right wing brexiteer to select the audience for Question Time

durhamjen Fri 30-Mar-18 19:31:07

Andrew Neil is the chairman of Press Holdings group, which owns the Telegraph and Spectator. I presume his political affiliation has always been Tory.

whitewave Fri 30-Mar-18 19:34:20

Feedback today on radio 4. The top item was the complaint of total absence of reporting on Brexit marches last Saturday. The bbc was then grilled apparently. I must listen to it.

varian Fri 30-Mar-18 20:03:42

Andrew Neil was the chairman of the Conservative club at Glasgow University and has unfortunately never outgrown the political views he had as a young student.

durhamjen Fri 30-Mar-18 20:42:56

He was always old, was he?
I thought we were supposed to grow out of socialism as we grew older.
