Well, we have to have a thread each season don't we! grin

Katie Piper was announced on Breakfast this morning. I am full of admiration for her and can't wait to see how she gets on.

Sorry Maw didn't see the last page (your post)

Lauren should go this week, then Joe, but who can tell?

TerriBull Sat 08-Dec-18 20:10:06

I think Lauren may go this week, or Joe. Ashley and Faye are technically better than Stacey, but I think she has the hearts of the public insomuch, as there is a perception that the other two have dance experience and Stacey started from cold. Anyway, I'm hoping she'll be the overall winner.

merlotgran Sat 08-Dec-18 20:20:57

Stacey gets all my votes. I think she's amazing and Kevin is a brilliant choreographer.

Charleygirl5 Sat 08-Dec-18 20:59:55

I cannot complain who leaves or stays because I never vote.

annodomini Sat 08-Dec-18 21:29:30

I also give all my votes to Stacey and she does seem to be far and away the public favourite. And Kevin is always popular too. I prefer Fay to Ashley and think Giovanni is adorable!

Anja Sat 08-Dec-18 21:45:16

I agree anno

paddyann Sat 08-Dec-18 21:49:59

I still think that Asley shouldn't be there ,sheis a choreographer AND judge on a dance show it seems a bit unfair on the folk who started as non dancers .Faye may have dance experience too though not as much but enough to make it an unfair contest .

Anja Sat 08-Dec-18 21:51:12

Lauren is going to go this week. I’m pretty sure that Stacey will win and possibly Joe will come 2nd, not necessarily because they are the best but because they are total beginners and very popular. Joe has a huge following on his blog.

Faye to come third.

Rosieroe Sat 08-Dec-18 22:06:59

I would like Faye and Giovanni to win for the delight they have given me in watching them dance but I’m resigned to the fact that the majority of viewers will likely vote for Stacey.

What really annoys me is people who have been vicious in their criticism of Ashley because of her previous dance experience, and she probably gets even more because she is American.

I also think people confuse her with Kimberly Wyatt (also from Pussy Cat Dolls) who was a judge on ‘Got to Dance’.

DanniRae Sat 08-Dec-18 22:18:50

Because I don't think Ashley deserves to be in the dance off I voted for her twice tonight.
I want Stacey to win the contest, however. tchsmile

GrannyGravy13 Sat 08-Dec-18 22:19:01

Rosierie, I think Ashley was a judge on “Dancing on Ice”

Rosieroe Sat 08-Dec-18 23:13:22

You may be right Gravy about Dancing on Ice - I’ve never taken to it so haven’t seen her on it - but although Faye also has so much prior dance experience it’s Ashley who is being targeted. They both have made the show for me. How (and where) else would we get to see such wonderful dance routines where the professionals like Giovanni and Pasha get to perform for us at their very best?

Sparklefizz Sun 09-Dec-18 11:10:30

Faye's professional CV was published online today and she has massive dance and theatre experience including in West End shows. However, I find her much more likable than Ashley.

And much as I want Stacey to win because she has started from scratch and is very good indeed, if everybody was rubbish, no one would watch, and I do love to see some fabulous dancing, so I agree with Rosieroe about enjoying seeing the professionals at their very best with good partners.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 09-Dec-18 11:27:27

SCD makes my Saturday evening, I just love it. I also really enjoy It takes two on BBC2 6.30 weekdays, in fact I feel slightly bereft once each series finishes.

NotSpaghetti Sun 09-Dec-18 21:30:42

I also think the fact that Faye’s years and years of dancing experience is ignored but Ashley’s is not, is to do with the fact that Ashley is from the USA. Rosierow is right.
I’m afraid Faye comes across as rather irritating to me, but I still think she may well win.
I do feel a bit sorry for Ashley. After all, presumably the BBC actually asked her to be involved and all she did was accept. Now she’s finding that no matter how well she dances it ultimately makes no difference.

lemongrove Sun 09-Dec-18 22:44:39

Well, the right person left the show tonight, although I did think Joe may be in the dance off.
Stacey has ( in my view) become a bit irritating, but has done so well as never a dancer, so does deserve to win.
My choice to win would be Fay and Giovanni though.

Eloethan Sun 09-Dec-18 23:06:05

People should, in my view, stick to judging the dances and leave personality out of it.

I feel extremely sorry for Ashley. It is now so obvious that the reason people are not voting for her is nothing to do with her dancing. It must be so hurtful. She is, in my view again, by far the best dancer technically and consistently performs to a high level. Her routines, though, do often seem to lack light and shade and emotion. That would be the only reason that would stop me voting for her.

I think perhaps the BBC needs to look more carefully at the criteria being used when inviting people to compete. It is really unfair that people like Ashley and Faye are being pilloried for something they are not responsible for.

Alima Mon 10-Dec-18 06:58:13

I agree with your point about criteria Eloethan. Apparently next season will be different, The will be somebody new at the helm.
Don’t get your point of people not voting for Ashley because of her dancing, what else could it be. Really enjoy watching Faye, also think it is odd people don’t go on about her previous dance experience.

felice Mon 10-Dec-18 09:05:44

DGS has been staying downstairs with me every Saturday night since the beginning of the series, he loves it.
I then have to record Sundays programme and he watches it when he gets home from school this afternoon.
We both want Stacey to win.
It has been so nice to have real family viewing on a Saturday evening.

eazybee Mon 10-Dec-18 11:56:18

It was clever of the producers to choose two very good dancers such as Faye and Ashley, as there is very little to choose between their performance, and it has been such a pleasure to watch their superb dancing. The almost vendetta against Ashley is unpleasant and un -neccessary as she was bound to win every dance-off unless against Faye. But neither will win it because the voters go on personality rather than ability.
It was right for Lauren to go, but she should have gone earlier; I would have preferred Charles Venn or Danny Jon-Jules in the final.
I fear Stacey will win it. Her later dances have not matched her earlier ones in terms of finessse and complexity, and like Lemongrove, I find her increasingly irritating; all that shrieking and talking over the interviewers has probably driven 'Kev' to seek another role rather from going on tour.

oldbatty Fri 14-Dec-18 09:46:22

I preferred Gio when his English was newer.

annodomini Fri 14-Dec-18 10:31:34

Nobody is voting against Ashley. They're just not voting for her. Viewers are obviously voting in droves for Stacey and Joe as they perceive them as having made (that dreaded word) a 'journey' whereas Ashley was at least half way there when she started. Fay must be getting more votes perhaps because of her engaging personality and - I hesitate to add - unlike Ashley, she is British.
