Disappointed with that merlotgran takes the story to a different place .Up until then it was going really well

Really enjoying this series- takes a while to get the adrenaline level down after watching.

Reading them solved something for me. I was trying to remember where I had seen the actor Paul Ready before. It was in the wonderfully funny Motherland where he played a hysterically drippy character.

I’m not disappointed by the inevitable affair , we know it won’t end happily. Can’t wait to see what happens. I’m officially hooked on this one. Loving it.

Many levels and threads in this one kept us both riveted again. Not sure how the affair will end, other than badly and wonder who is manipulating who. Would like to see more of David’s wife and left wondering about the dismissed staff member from episode one, who is she really and what is she up to.

The shared level of tension during the attack almost inevitably spilled over when they were alone! It had to happen at some stage and I thought that the timing was appropriate!
I too am wondering who's the more manipulative of the two!

The level of tension and difficulty in knowing who is the most dangerous is so reminiscent of Line oF Duty. What a brilliant piece of television. I agree with you mcem, adrenalin following a life threatening incident, combine that with two lonely, emotionally all over the place / repressed people and the inevitable happens.
I heard someone on a radio 5 phone in after episode 1, who complained that 'political correctness' led her husband to walk out. she said they both found it unbelievable that so many key characters were female! Ahem, Theresa May, Amber Rudd, Cressida Dick to name three women in key roles right now. Anyone who had worked with the Police for example, will be in regular contact with female officers at all ranks, they are ambitious and do get promoted of course. Sorry, OP rant.

Thought it was gripping except I did begin to think he was too close to Superman and there were holes. What happened to the back-up car when they were under fire? Isn't its purpose to take over when things like that happen and whip her off?
Nice to see Gina Mckee again a much underrated actor.

Its great....and I'm secretly rooting for Lavender...its just that everybody seems to say she's dangerous, ambitious a sociopath etc....is that just a bit too obvious?....mind you knowing the writers it could be a cunning double bluff....anyway its just good telly and that's such a great thing in the usual sea of dross.

So who do we think told the bombers where his children went to school? Must be someone in the Home Secs office.

It appears that all ministerial cars have, in addition to other protective features (commensurate with those shown in last night’s episode), polycarbonate toughened bulletproof windows. But that would not have facilitated the plot line.
Anyway, as an aside, am I the only one who found the bulletproof vest he stripped down to a total turn on ??

Perhaps the bodyguard's estranged wife's new boyfriend is only really on the scene to find out more about the bodyguard from her, and hence would find out where the children went to school. A softly softly approach to wheedle his way in .... Just a thought.

I'm trying to think of the last time a TV programme's plot got so many people interested AND its not a nasty murder with a young female as victim (always a bonus) Although the recent Unforgotten was an exception as we were distanced from the nastiness of the crime right up to the last episode when we saw the true evil of the doctor's character..

Same here - phew! I haven't seen the actor, whose name escapes me, in Game of Thrones. In fact, I've never seen. GoThrones but having seen him in this drama, I begin to understand by so many young women watch Game of Thrones

Richard Madden played Robb Stark in GOT. I have never seen GOT (too graphic for me!) though I have read all the books and he is one of the major characters.

He is one of the main actors in a Netflix series "Medici: Masters of Florence" which I really enjoyed.

So far, I prefer Line of Duty too but I do think Bodyguard is pretty good and better than most things on TV at the moment.

Sure, Eloethan I agree there. Line of Duty had some real " wow I didn't see that coming moments"

Line of Duty was a real triumph in tv drama. It will take some topping but Bodyguard is great Sunday evening viewing
