Did anyone else watch the program about our future King the other night. I found it very entertaining and loved his story about the butcher and the black pudding. I felt he came across as a very nice person who is kind and thoughtful and his wife and sons, clearly love him very much.

How many tourists would come to see a president and spend their money in the UK? People fly in from all over the globe for Royal events

Apparently, France with its rich history, former monarchy, lavish palaces and stately chateaus makes a mint from 'royal' tourism. More than the UK does, I believe. I read an article a while ago regarding France cashing in on its past. They do it without a monarchy, with a President at the helm.

The older I get the more I realise we really don't need the Windsors. They DO rely on us loving them in order to retain their position.

I don't want revolution but I do want the whole lavish shebang neutered.

1) Queen, 2) Charles, 3) William - and maybe 4) George, will take us a hundred years or so into the future, but really, will the fruit of little George's loin deserve the trappings of wealth and privilege that family enjoy?

Perhaps there has to be an end date, a limit - a bloodless revolution? We won't see it, but perhaps the powers that be should be planning for it?

The scandal brought the paparazzi and she died This is the most tragic part of that time, she encouraged them, the posing on the diving board of the yacht after she told the press she would be there at that time. Then Paris , leaving the Ritz to play catch me if you can, and they certaintly did.

So, How can the royal family help an accident of birth and what can they do about it?!

To be quite honest, unless you are a very devout Christian, I don't imagine you examine your life and tick boxes as to whether you've obeyed the ten commandments or not.

I believe they provide a guide as to how a decent person should live, and I try to be a decent, honest person and I have, like most people, a conscience which guides me. but as humans we are fallible. Charles is fallible and although the defender of the faith title is the sovereign's, it has been accepted that Charles will defend various faiths. We are a tolerant society and Charles, being human, has made mistakes.

Don't we all make mistakes? Life is messy and the Royal family face the same personal dilemmas we all face. They don't always get it right.

For most of us, our short-comings and faults remain behind closed doors. The Windsors are under the microscope. Most feuding couples play their games away from the spotlight.

I think it's rather strange to want Charles to be a man without faults. He was wrong to hanker still after his dear friend (and lover) Camilla when he was married but he won't be the first man (or woman) to have a bit on the side, and he won't be the last, sadly.

I have been one of the many, many married women to have experienced this. It hurts. Charles hurt Diana, Diana in turn decided what was good for the goose was also good for the gander, and who can blame her?

They are/were humans, not high clergy. In many ways such scandal made the royals more human with the emergence of the paparazzi, having a field day at the expense of those in the public eye.

We have to move on. Royalty has to move with the times too.

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Nov-18 18:51:22

I hope you didn't mean Wales, annep

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Nov-18 18:50:31

The Queen and the Prince of Wales also both have their own personal supply of blood in their convoy in countries where a reliable source is questionable.
What a bloody brilliant idea! grin

gillybob Tue 13-Nov-18 18:27:44

What on earth does it matter how Charlie came into the world and whether or not her maj had an enema? confused The fact remains that they are in this obscenely privileged position simply because of who they were born to .

nigglynellie Tue 13-Nov-18 17:50:39

Touche Annie!! I give in!!??

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 17:34:44

niggly, I would but think The Tower would be chilly this time of year. ?

nigglynellie Tue 13-Nov-18 17:02:21

Well Annie, that IS an option! But a letter, and perhaps?!! a reply?!!! Well, probably not but even so, I dare you!!!!!???

Bridgeit Tue 13-Nov-18 16:55:07

Annep, you seem to have a lot of knowledge.? about something you detest, why torture yourself. Just accept equality does not or ever will truly exist.
I count my blessings everyday that I am lucky enough to have a roof over my head, food to eat & a computer to pontificate on, & it is hard to know that there are Still starving people in the world & to know that if I gave everything I own away it would help absolutely no one for longer than a blink of an eye. So I am glad that there are people who are better off than me & who can give & help more than I can. Who can provide jobs, who can use their position to help others no matter how limited that maybe.

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 16:50:56

niggly, I got it, I will hold a seance and ask Uncle Horace if queenie had an enema, surely patient confidentiality doesn’t go to the grave ? ?

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 16:48:06

I don’t care but gosh it bothers some ?. I am thankful they have their own medical team, if Charles had an accident when staying in his farmhouse in Wales, the Heath Hospital in Cardiff would be in a tizz

Bridgeit Tue 13-Nov-18 16:45:22

Where would we stop,? They are part & parcel of our entire countries history, would communism suit the country better ? I don’t think so. Nothing is ever equal, who would you move onto next? Actors, stars, politicians, models , anyone who has inherited family wealth?

nigglynellie Tue 13-Nov-18 16:44:18

I expect most of the heads of state in other countries do too! So what! Who cares!!!

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 16:43:49

niggly ? x

annep Tue 13-Nov-18 16:41:29

Yes they bleed but for two of them at least help is at hand. Special treatment for more important people or what?!
I bet there's more too.
A Royal Navy doctor also accompanies the Queen on tours, carrying a bulky medical bag with a mobile defibrillator.

The Queen and the Prince of Wales also both have their own personal supply of blood in their convoy in countries where a reliable source is questionable.

nigglynellie Tue 13-Nov-18 16:41:09

Annie???, perhaps you could write and ask her!!!!!!?

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 16:25:41

Did queenie have an enema ?

maryeliza54 Tue 13-Nov-18 16:10:31

Nope

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 16:04:00

Perhaps he arrived by caesarean

maryeliza54 Tue 13-Nov-18 15:51:56

What’s trying niggly with the truth - PC is where he is because of whose vagina he came out of - it’s as simple as that - or maybe you believe in the divine right of kings ?

Anniebach Tue 13-Nov-18 15:46:11

I certaintly do not think they are better than anyone else, but I don’t think this of anyone. I do not think them more important than anyone else. They are human beings, born into a family of wealth with a job to do. But they are human beings with the same emotions as me , if cut they bleed. They are not responsible for the actions of their ancestors neither am I responsible for the actions of my ancestors.

I do think Charles has been subjected to humiliation and unfair criticism and is the victim of many lies,

If I had to choose out of the entire Windsor family who I have always respected it’s Katherine Kent who has retired from royal duties.

gillybob Tue 13-Nov-18 15:14:55

I do play the lottery Annie in the tiniest hope of improving mine and my families lives . I don’t need millions . Just enough for DH and I to get off this treadmill, pay my debts and to help my children out . The rf probably wouldn’t get out of bed for what I could live on comfortably for the rest of my life.

I don’t think these people are any better than anyone else in this country, just obscenely rich due to accident of birth. It puzzles me shy anyone would think otherwise .

Anyway off into the school yard now.

annep Tue 13-Nov-18 14:44:48

and yes MaryEliza democratic!!
