Did anyone else watch the program about our future King the other night. I found it very entertaining and loved his story about the butcher and the black pudding. I felt he came across as a very nice person who is kind and thoughtful and his wife and sons, clearly love him very much.
Didn't a couple of meddling grannies suggest they get together?
I have no wish to be accused of having superior knowledge again ?
Francis Shand Kid left her husband, she applied to the courts for custody of her children. Her own mother supported Johnnie Spencer against Francis and Johnnie Spencer was awarded custody. The grandmother was Lady Fermoy, close friend and lady in waiting to the queen mother .
Could be these two and Johnnie Spencer had a little plot,
Charles was devoted to the QM, Diana so possessive of her father even made the nannies lives hell, she said herself she slapped her father when he decided to marry Raine.
Gosh, strange times.
What a pother...
We,all have our own slant on C&C but what we think makes not one whit of difference to the outcome.
Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.
What we read in the papers ostensibly passed on through 'reliable sources', is not always the truth, the whole truth or anywhere near the truth. It's edited to guarantee or influence certain responses from the general public.
Would you or I mind about the general public seeing or knowing about the less acceptable parts of our lives, sitting in judgement after hearing or reading only part of our story? I very much doubt it.
Charles can hardly put the record straight.
Why not castigate some of our population whose wealth far exceeds that of the monarchy, who make no effort to curb their lifestyles, their morals or their mores?
IMO, HM, Princes Charles and William, the Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Anne and Sophie Wessex, all do a good job as part of our monarchy.
If anyone can come up with a better idea, a replacement for the monarchy, then come forth or hold your peace.
As for the Charles/Diana/Camilla mènage á trois (of sorts) and his future as defender of the faith, I doubt he has absolute confidence that there is only one faith, that being the Church of England Protestant faith.
He has dabbled and had/has interest in other faiths, to what degree is a moot point.
How many of you go on cruises, fly for pleasure multiple times yearly, use petrol instead of sustainable alternatives, grow your own food?
Poverty Anniebach?
I doubt it.
People who live in poverty don't have the internet, ipads, live in bungalows or afford mobility scooters.
I think maybe Lord Mountbatten was involved as well so I read once and yes I heard that the two grandmothers had a hand in Diana and Charles getting together.
However it is all water under the bridge now.
Good luck to them all.
As somebody said earlier I would hate it if we had no Royal family.
I think the Queen must have more stamina than I have.
She was out last night and then again this morning before going out again this evening
Well done her.
... watching the rememberence service today...a thought that went through our heads was..which fancy dress shop does Prince Charles use for his uniforms... because he damn well has done nothing to deserve them....I have nothing for or against the monarchy...but their lives aren't 'real lives' and they have no understanding of thus!'
I think he is lovely.
Gabriella, why that post on poverty ? Nasty, nasty, nasty, and cruel.
I live in a one bedroomed council bungalow, I bought my scooter out of my funeral fund so will not have a funeral , my younger daughter bought me my iPad, what did you get out of your post. I feel sorry for you, to have the need to post such nastiness must be so sad
^I think the Queen must have more stamina than I have.

Me too !
Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone.
Yes, absolutely.
Would anyone else like their private conversations published in the msm? Honestly?
When I said me too I meant I think HM has more stamina than me!
Yes she did well for a frail old lady but still, she wouldn't have had to lift a finger in between. None of them ever have to.
Regardless of the financial source of your assets, you cannot in truth, say that you live in poverty.
Poorer than some, yes but compared to whom or what sector of society?
Certainly not impoverished. Living in council accomodation and having been gifted an ipad does not mean that a person lives in poverty.
There is no poverty in the UK, only people who mis-manage their income and I am certainly not suggesting that you fall into that category.
Anniebach regarding properties owned by Charles which he bought perhaps you could research how monarchs acquired their wealth.
GabriellaG I have always said we are all entitled to our opinions and shouldn't be rude but its difficult on reading your last paragraph. Poverty is very much alive and kicking in 2018! Plenty of info available. Perhaps you could read some statements by those who use foodbanks and think, would anyone choose to do this? And then maybe possibly donate something nice to your local foodbank- something that will be a treat for these undeserving people who can only ever afford the cheapest food. I include my single parent daughter here who struggles to work and raise two children, hampered at every turn by the government, adding stress to her struggle. Luckily she has me - and my savings. (Not nice either to have to accept help). But not everyone has someone to help out. Perhaps you could also read about poverty related suicides. Silly people, all they needed was to manage their income better. Should have eaten cake.
There is no poverty in the UK......an astonishing comment.
I can't help feeling/thinking that Camilla feels awkward amongst the family. She appeared positively nervous at the Abbey last night. However she's obviously more relaxed when just with her husband.
She just seems to be on pins when there's any kind of a ceremony and tends to " hover " a bit not certain if she's doing things right or not.
I haven't noticed EllenV. She always seems very confident/relaxed to me. I must look......
Also GG there is a thing called Relative Poverty which is very important especially with children.
Unlike the rest of the family she came into public life when she was 57, she is very relaxed when doing her charity work, she should have been given her correct title too.
I would think the hatred she endured for years must have scarred her.
Apparently she told Charles she would like to be his mistress like her great aunt was the mistress of Edward VII(?)
As she becomes older she is losing confidence probably because of pain and painkillers as she makes no secret that she suffers from osteoperosis. She is a decent person and he loves her. That has to be enough.
watching the remembrance service today...a thought that went through our heads was..which fancy dress shop does Prince Charles use for his uniforms... because he damn well has done nothing to deserve them....I have nothing for or against the monarchy...but their lives aren't 'real lives' and they have no understanding of thus
Maybe the same one as Mr Benn Farview . He tries on a fancy dress outfit and like magic he becomes "that person".
I see (relative) poverty every day in the school yard of my DGC's primary school. You really don't have to look far.
I think it is enough Margaret
Sorry, haven't read the full thread. Just reached the comment by Anniebach where she says she respects Charles for his dignity. Is this the same Charles who wanted to be his tart's tampon so that he could be inside her all the time?
I have never had any respect for married men who stray whilst still married. This is the man who will be head of the Church of England! This is the man who wants his ex tart/now wife to become Queen!
Dignity?
He doesn't have an ounce of dignity.
