Is there an old programme you would like to see being repeated?
Gold and Dave etc do have some good old ones, but there are some that never see the light of day again.
I would like to see The Onedin Line again.

The Drama channel and Uk Gold have a lot of old series. There was a Channel called Encore on Sky but I can’t find it now.
I’ve watched Tenko, House of Elliot, Sharpe in the last couple of years. Can’t beat some of the old programmes.
I agree Family at War was excellent, I’d like to see that again

I remember the George Burns Show with his wife, Gracie Allen.
Also a series called The Grove Family, I can even remember the theme tune.
Amos n Andy was another US radio show then a tv series which I loved.

Colonel March of Scotland Yard is now showing on Talking Pictures TV weekdays at 5.30. Episode one was yesterday. Brilliant 1950s programme with Boris Karlof.

They had "Emergency Ward 10" - The film I think - on Talking Pictures recently. Apparently a young Alan Turner who used to be in "Emmerdale" was in it. Apparently he was quite a matinee idol in his day. Also what about "Compact" with a pre crossroads Ronald Allen and Lunch Box with Noele Gordon before sahe became meg Richardon = BIG COL

I remember this prog well. Madge Hindle played Walters wife tho she was miles younger. I used to like the sequel as well "Not On Your Nellie" but I don't think that was as popular. I remembered it featured a young Wendy Richard pre- Miss Brahms xxxx - BIG COL

Love all these progs 1974 Cookie. "The Avengers" if it still is, but it was being repeated on True Entertainment. Don't know about Adam Adamnt. I cant really remember it well. Wasn't it Gerald Harper. I remember him in "hadleigh" which might be another one to add. I know "The Goodies" episode you referred to. I also liked the one about the giant cat and the one about "jack and the Beanstalk" and many more - BIG COL

So many. I'd probs like to see again some of the ones they don't seem to show anymore. What about "Nearest and dearest" with Hylda baker or "Queenie's castle" with Diana Dors or "Ours is a nice house" with Thora Hird or "Not In front of the Children" with Wendy Craig. What about "Nanny and the professor" with Juliet Mills and Richard Long. What about just old repeats of shows. They show old repeats of "Corrie", what about "Howards way" or "Crossroads" or some of the Aussie ones were good "The Sullivans" "Sons and Daughters" "The Young Doctors" and things. I could go on forever - BIG COL

Talking Heads will never become dated. I'd love to have them as a boxed set.
Chewbacca, I'm glad to see that you too enjoyed Northern Exposure. Such a 'wacky' collection of characters and scenarios. Another series I'd like to see as a boxed set.

Yes Jacky I enjoyed Compact as well and Emergency Ward 10.

There were some really cheesy soaps back in the day, but I would still like to know how it continued for the Newcomers and the staff of Compact

Ah the memories this topic conjures up. Lemongrove I remember A Very Peculiar Practice.
Anyone else miss Changing Rooms? Particularly the reactions to some of Laurence's more outrageous makeovers.

lemongrove Mon 03-Dec-18 19:10:02

Anyone remember A Very Peculiar Practice?
A health centre set in a mythical University in the midlands,
With very odd medical staff and nuns running about the campus.

sodapop Mon 03-Dec-18 17:21:55

Oh yes I loved Peak Practice as well. My daughter was a great fan of Catweazel.
Sorry about the spelling Maw
